Sigma SD14 Digital SLR with 14.1 MegaPixel Foveon Sensor

Part VII

June, 2007

John E. Johnson, Jr.

For comparison with other cameras, here are results first for the Canon EOS-5D, using the 17mm-40mm lens, and then the Samsung NV10.

What we see is that the EOS-5D rise is faster, sharpness is higher, but it tends to be oversharpened compared to the standard. Its chromatic aberration is not quite as good as the Sigma at wide angle, but is better at the long focal length. With the Samsung NV10, the rise is about the same as the Sigma, sharpness is also good, but the chromatic aberration is worse than either the Sigma or the Canon.
