What they say:

The Cerwin-Vega E-75C is a 2-way system that uses a 1" dome tweeter and a pair of 5 1/4" woofers.  A self-resetting PTC system ensures that you will not overload your most important speaker in your home theater during an intense confrontation or even during a romantic interlude of your favorite onscreen couple.  Add a pair of Cerwin-Vega's E-705 or E-706 speakers and you've got yourself one explosive compact theater setup.  The traditional black finish will only attract the right attention to itself, and especially won't detract from your living room decor.  Magnetic shielding protects against unwanted discoloration while pinning movie dialogue to your television.

 What we found:

The E-75C created a believable front soundstage when put in the center of a pair of any E-Series 2 models.  Overall, onscreen dialogue was clean and crisp with a hint of strain at higher volumes.  One thing that is very pleasing about the E-75C is the flawless matching you get when pairing them with Cerwin-Vega's E-Series 2 speakers.  The sound can only be described as "explosive" when paired with the recommended E-705 an E-706 bookshelf speakers that make up the compact theater mentioned before.  You can even mate the E-75C with a pair of Cerwin-Vega floorstanding speakers for that extra kick that a full-size home theater can deliver.  The capacity for high wattage (up to 100 watts) is convenient if you want to crank it up and wake up the neighbors, or invite them over for a movie experience they won't soon forget.  The tuned port did a nice job at minimizing extra cabinet noise until higher volumes were reached (probably far too loud for the average listener, however).  Although not as large as the Cerwin-Vega E-76C and without going quite as deep, the E-75C provides a solid anchor for dialogue and center effects for a home theater system.  The second edition of the Cerwin-Vega E-Series speakers, including the E-75C, comes highly recommended.
