Page 33 - Pioneer

The Pioneer Elite plasma displays are still regarded as some of the best out there, and I would have to agree. Here we see the Elite PureVision Plasma line, with the 60 inch PRO-1540HD on top. The 1540HD is 1365 x 768 and can accept a 1080p/24Hz signal.

They were also showing their flagship 1080p PRO-FHD1 model. Incredibly life-like images. Pioneer also debuted their new Plasma technology that boasts 20,000:1 contrast ratios and incredible color fidelity. The representative told me that they reengineered the entire display, from the glass to the circuitry. Unfortunately for me, the demo was being shown at set intervals, and I didn't get back to the booth to make one of them.

Pioneer is touting their displays' and Blu-Ray player's ability to be a complete 1080p/24Hz end-to-end solution for the best quality video, therefore, they had an exhibit describing what 24fps means and why it is important. Not a bad way to educate people, I suppose.

At the end of the display was their Elite BDP-HD1 Blu-Ray disc player. It is a very attractive looking piece of equipment, and has an MSRP of $1500.
