NAMM 2011 - Show Report

teaserThis was my first experience with attending Namm, held in Anaheim, California, January 13-16, 2011. It was very crowded with exhibitors and attendees, so it would appear that everyone is confident that the economic recovery is on its way. I had just returned from attending CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, and I thought that was loud (speaker and amplifier manufacturers are all playing their equipment throughout the convention halls), but that was nothing compared to what I experienced when I entered the exhibit area at NAMM. I didn't bring an SPL meter with me, but I am sure it would have been at least 100 dB. There were drum and cymbal companies exhibiting that I have never heard of before, and it appears they are good products. You will see photos of them in this report.
