What they say:

The SB-LX10 speaker is a 2-way system using a 2.6" tweeter and a 6 3/4" woofer and is the smallest of the Technics SB-LX speakers.  This doesn't, however, mean that it's missing any of the same features as the rest of them.

The housing incorporates a bass reflex system with a tuned port designed to reduce unwanted turbulence to produce higher volumes with less effort.  Rounded baffle edges are also used to reduce diffraction to improve sound quality.  The acoustically transparent grille doesn't interfere with your music, while at the same time protecting your speakers from unwanted damage.

What we found:

The SB-LX10 speakers are inexpensive and, unfortunately, they sound that way.  Overall, the sound is a little muddy and quite thin.  The suggested low frequency response of 46 Hz is a generous rating for the small 6 3/4" woofer, and the small size of the cabinet. The SB-LX10 speakers are also not video-shielded, so it is not advisable to use them in a sub/sat combo for home theater unless placed far from the video monitor. Combine the poor stereo imaging with the fact that, in actuality, they would perform poorly for home theater even if they were video-shielded, and this very much limits the use of this speaker.  Regardless, the SB-LX10 does have to the ability to fill a small to medium size room modestly with music if you're looking for something to do so on a budget.  Unlike the other SB-LX models, the SB-LX10s can be placed comfortably on just about any bookshelf.
