Acurus is Back in Black

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Indianapolis, IN — After a 10 year hiatus, Acurus returns to the market with its new A2000 series of 200 watt amplifiers available in 2 (A2002), 5 (A2005), and 7 (A2007) channel models with a stylish black anodized aluminum finish.  The updated models will be on display at CEDIA Expo 2011 in Indianapolis at the Indy Audio Labs booth (#4941).  Acurus continues to stand for USA-made high performance at high value.  All three new models contain updated versions of the same rock solid, fully discrete amplifier designs that made Acurus famous.

The A2000 series amplifiers were designed with the electronic systems contractor in mind.  Each model features an ethernet port that can connect to any off-the-shelf networking gear.  This enables the unit to be controlled and diagnosed remotely from a unique web page served up by the amp, accessible by any device with a web browser.  All models embrace energy efficiency with a very low standby power consumption of less than one watt.  Each unit also includes a serial port that is compatible with popular home control systems, along with an external trigger input for remote on/off operation. The A2000 series amplifiers have easy-to-read white back panels to ease installation in a dimly-lit rack system.  Acurus also offers an optional rackmount kit.

Along with the A2000 series amplifiers, Acurus will also show a pre-production version of the new Acurus Act 4 pre-amplifier/processor, available for order in Q1 2012.  The Act 4 will feature ethernet connectivity that directly controls and monitors other Acurus amplifiers in the system.

Panamax’s M4315-PRO BlueBOLT(TM)-Enabled Power Management Unit Named 2010 CEDIA Manufacturer’s Excellence Award Finalist

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

PETALUMA, Calif. — July 28, 2010 — Panamax today announced that its M4315-PRO power management product featuring BlueBOLT(TM) capability has been named as a 2010 CEDIA Manufacturer’s Excellence Award finalist in the Best New Product category. Finalists for this year’s awards were determined by a diverse panel of CEDIA residential electronic systems contractor judges on the criteria of innovation, value to the technician, value to the business, and impact on the client’s lifestyle.

“In addition to offering consumers the best-possible performance from their A/V equipment, the M4315-PRO provides significant cost savings for installers and end users alike. For installers, the ability to perform hard reboots remotely drastically reduces service calls. For their customers, the unit’s BlueBOLT energy management helps reduce energy consumption for lower utility bills,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax/Furman. “It is truly an honor to receive recognition for our efforts from the CEDIA community and to be named as a finalist for this prestigious award.”

The 15A M4315-PRO is one of Panamax’s first PRO series power management products to feature BlueBOLT, which provides hosted IP (Internet Protocol) power control and energy monitoring for A/V systems. BlueBOLT’s breakthrough features include remote outlet control for hard reboots of connected equipment; e-mail alerts when power anomalies occur; scheduled commands for power-up, power-down, or power-cycling of outlets; and monitoring of incoming voltage in near-real time or over history.

For an optimal home theater experience, the 15A M4315-PRO combines this unprecedented control with “pro” level linear noise filtration for enhanced audio and video system performance. The M4315-PRO includes a standard two-way RS-232 communication card for remote control of all eight individual rear panel outlets, enabling installers to automate equipment functionality. The 1-RU product comes in a 19-inch PRO width, offers a detachable IEC power cord, and features four isolated linear filtered outlet banks.

The Top 10 Best New Product winners will be announced at the Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards Banquet at CEDIA EXPO 2010 on Sept. 25 in Atlanta, Ga.

The M4315-PRO and the 20A version, the M4320-PRO, are available now, at MSRPs of $649.95 and $749.95, respectively.

RTI’s vIRsa Mouse IR Emitter Named 2010 CEDIA Manufacturer’s Excellence Award Finalist

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — July 29, 2010 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that its vIRsa Mouse IR emitter has been named as a 2010 CEDIA Manufacturer’s Excellence Award finalist in the Best New Product category. Finalists for this year’s awards were determined by a diverse panel of CEDIA residential electronic systems contractor judges on the criteria of innovation, value to the technician, value to the business, and impact on the client’s lifestyle.

“Built with the professional integrator in mind, every aspect of the vIRsa Mouse IR emitter was designed with the goal of simplifying installations in the field while providing unmatched reliability,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “It is truly an honor to receive recognition for our efforts from the CEDIA community and to be named as a finalist for this prestigious award.”

The low-profile vIRsa is unobtrusive and adapts to any installation environment with a flexible film adhesive that conforms to curved surfaces. For fast troubleshooting, a separate holder remains attached, allowing easy removal and replacement of the emitter. A blue LED flasher offers increased visibility but may be hidden during normal operation.

For high reliability, a translucent PCB improves the integrity of electrical connections while a built-in resistor protects against voltage overdrive and precision molding ensures consistent quality. The device’s 15-foot cable reaches the entire equipment rack, and an integrated cable-management strap reduces clutter.

The Top 10 Best New Product winners will be announced at the Electronic Lifestyles(R) Awards Banquet at CEDIA EXPO 2010 on Sept. 25 in Atlanta, Ga.

NuVo Technologies Terminates Two Preferred Dealers for Internet Sales

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Hebron, KY – August 19, 2009 NuVo Technologies, the value leader in whole home audio, announced today that it has terminated two of its Preferred Dealers for unauthorized internet sales. One dealer based in Indiana sold NuVo equipment on Amazon.com to an end user in Oklahoma, while the other, based in Texas, sold a NuVo product on eBay.com.

As clearly stated in the dealers’ agreements with NuVo, Preferred Dealers are prohibited from selling NuVo products over the internet. They are further prohibited from selling NuVo products to third parties that intend, or that the dealer reasonably believes may attempt, to sell NuVo products via the internet, including sales made through auction and reseller sites like eBay. Preferred Dealers also agree not to merchandise or advertise NuVo products below retail price.

“NuVo has a zero-tolerance policy with regards to unauthorized internet sales of our products,” says Chris Westfall, NuVo’s vice president sales, USA. “Although it is difficult for us in this economic climate to terminate dealers, doing the right thing isn’t always the easy thing. These terminations demonstrate to the vast majority of NuVo Preferred Dealers who play by the rules that we will continue to take aggressive steps to protect their businesses and their margins.”
