Zyklop and Minotaur Audiophile-Quality Power Cords Refine
Performances, Removing Noise and Adding Clarity, Transparency, Depth

PARKER, CO, July 8, 2011 — Aaudio Imports, a leading supplier of world-class high-end audio products, presents a pair of exceptional power products with unsurpassable performance qualities and build characteristics. The Zyklop and Minotaur Power Cords by Stage III Concepts, a world-class innovator in audio cable design, represent definitive statements in advanced, ultra-high performance interface technology.

Entirely handmade, the cables can be used with audio and video equipment of all types. They enhance the performance aspects of almost every system, while removing artifacts and noise that subtly mask musical nuances. The Zyklop, for example, makes treble and midrange signals smoother and better defined, and increases bass depth, articulation, video contrast and sharpness.

Based in Pasadena, California, Stage III Concepts was established by Luis De La Fuente in 1996. From the start, Stage III has been an innovator in the design of world-class audio cables and the first company to offer a variety of advanced technologies in their design and fabrication. Aaudio Imports is Stage III’s North America and Global distributor.

The A.S.P. Reference Zyklop Zero Distortion Audio Power Cord
The Zyklop Power Cord represents the upper limit for linear, silent, unrestricted power delivery for the ultra-high performance interface technology found in top audio and video components. Enhancing almost every performance aspect, it makes treble and midrange signals smoother and better defined, and increases bass depth and articulation, and video contrast and sharpness. It also removes artifacts and noise that mask fine music and image details.

The IEC and mains plugs use pure copper and silver electrical contacts with a massive conductor array delivering extremely low resistance, making it especially well suited for power amplifiers, where current demands can fluctuate quickly and drastically.

The cords employ 8 palladium/silver AeroStrand Ultra™ conductors for each polarity in a tubular helix geometry, and an air dielectric with FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon® air-tubes. Stage III’s high-efficiency AeroStrand conductors offer lower resistance and better heat dissipation than traditional stranded cords.

The Zyklop’s radiation-proof shielding uses an exclusive High Density Alloy foil plus nickel-plated copper braid, with individually protected ground, positive and negative conductors. The multi-layer construction includes a silica/ceramic/ferrite mechanical damping and shielding layer.

The cords use exclusive Hyperion Ceramic plugs with silver/copper alloy electrical contacts, cryogenically tempered and plated with palladium. Carbon fiber plug housings, also custom-made and polymer-filled, help eliminate external vibrations

Zyklop Zero Distortion Audio Power Cords are available now from Stage III dealers at a suggested price of $6,000 for 1.5 meters with each additional 0.5 meter costing $2,300. Discounts are available on a sliding scale ranging from 6 to 24 percent, depending on amount

The A.S.P. Reference Minotaur Extreme Audio Power Cord
Minotaur Audio Power Cords were designed to deliver the superb attributes of the Zyklop Zero Distortion Cord in a more compact, flexible, affordable format. It is better suited for all types of audio and video equipment that have less demanding power requirements, and that benefit from precise, linear and silent current delivery.

The Minotaur power cables employ 6 AeroStrand Ultra conductors with a palladium/silver alloy for each polarity in a large tubular helix geometry with alternating positive and negative conductors, an air dielectric, and FEP Teflon air tubes. The radiation-proof shielding uses an exclusive High Density Alloy foil plus nickel-plated copper braid, with an individually protected ground. The multi-layer construction includes a silica/ceramic/ferrite mechanical damping layer.

The cords use exclusive Hyperion Ceramic plugs with silver/copper alloy electrical contacts, cryogenically tempered and plated with palladium. Carbon fiber plug housings, also custom-made and polymer-filled, help eliminate external vibrations

Minotaur Extreme Audio Power Cords are available now from Stage III dealers at a suggested price of $4,000 for 1.5 meters with each additional 0.5 meter costing $1,100. Discounts are available on a sliding scale ranging from 6 to 24 percent, depending on amount.

MartinLogan Theos Electrostatic Loudspeaker Now Available

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

Descended from the acclaimed CLX loudspeaker, Theos features advanced XStat electrostatic technology along with greater bass performance, more visual transparency and flexible set-up options.

Lawrence, KS – May 23, 2011 – MartinLogan, The Great American Speaker Company, announces it is now shipping Theos; the most affordable hand-built electrostatic speaker with real wood finishes and custom bi-wire capable binding posts. Theos features a passive 8-inch high excursion woofer and an ultra-low turbulence down-firing bass port providing detailed bass down to 43Hz. New hand-rubbed, real wood finishes and flexible set-up options also enhance the Theos appeal.

The 9.2-inch wide by 44-inch tall XStat electrostatic transducer (speaker panel) on the Theos required careful mechanical engineering to achieve MartinLogan’s distinct 30-degree controlled dispersion pattern. To accomplish this, MartinLogan engineers reduced the gauge thickness of Theos’s steel stators, which not only achieves the desired arc, but also drastically increases the visual transparency of the panel.

Borrowing from the name of MartinLogan’s Chief Audio Technologist, Joe Vojtko, the Theos uses Advanced Vojtko Filtering. This proprietary audiophile quality network is hand-built using precision point-to-point wiring, polypropylene capacitors, massive air-core coils, and a custom wound toroidal audio transformer.

Theos also features a fully passive woofer in a bass reflex design and custom bi-wire capable binding posts giving audio enthusiasts the highest level of flexibility in amplifier selection and connectivity—from single wired solid state systems to vertical or horizontal bi-amplified tube installations. For ease of installation, Theos also features a low-voltage DC power supply that eliminates the need for a traditional, heavy IEC power cord.

Theos’ state-of-the-art features include:

• CLS XStat electrostatic transducer

• Ultra rigid AirFrame

• Fully passive design

• 8-inch aluminum cone woofer in a bass reflex design

• Precision built Vojtko crossover network boasting advanced ML topology

• Custom bi-wire toolless binding posts

• Custom ETC spikes

• Real wood finish options

Initial shipments of Theos will be offered in three hand-rubbed real-wood finishes including black ash, dark cherry, and zebrawood. Custom finishes are also available through authorized dealers.

US retail price is $4,995 per pair for standard finishes.

T.H.E. SHOW (The Home Entertainment Show) BRINGS AUDIO BACK TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

It has been years since Southern California has had a viable High-End Audio convention bringing new advancements and technologies in high-end to a population of over 24 million consumers.

T.H.E. Show, which has a notable reputation for an exclusively High-End Audio, industry-related convention every January is
bringing a whole new concept to Newport Beach, CA every Spring: For consumers and industry insiders alike.

The Show Newport will be held at the Newport Beach, CA Hilton hotel (Irvine) on June 3,4,5; Friday, Saturday and Sunday: conveniently located across the street from John Wayne/Orange County (SNA)
Airport near Freeways 405 & 55.

Expanding on several common “interests” of this high-end crowd, T.H.E. Show will also include a classic car show, in conjunction with Crevier BMW Auto Museum; a Wine-Tasting area courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits and Jazz Concerts every evening produced by BluePort Jazz Festival International. Several other local quality Jazz groups will be featured.

“In short,” says Richard Beers, organizer for T.H.E. Show, formerly a reporter/anchor for NBC, “we are appealing to a vast audience to get the focus on some high-end products that are commonly over-looked by consumers. When people think of high-end audio or home-theater, they normally head out to Big Box stores, not even aware that there are hundreds of alternative products which are, in most cases, superior.”, says Beers.

With five weeks to go, many large L.A. and Orange County Audio/Home Theaters dealers have signed up to exhibit their very impressive lines of equipment, along with manufacturers and distributors from all over the world including Europe, Asia and Australia. Beers estimates there will be over 100 separate “listening and viewing” exhibit rooms where attendees can actually “listen and experience” these products in an uninterrupted and controlled atmosphere, much like experiencing these spectacular high end products at their own home.
T.H.E. Show Newport will also feature seminars on Audio and Home Theater advancements, from the early days to now, including iPod; iPad; streaming music and more. “Many consumers are aware such things exist”, says Beers, “but don’t fully understand them. Saturday and Sunday, we will have hourly seminars covering new technologies and addressing such topics as ‘the difference between a $500 speaker as opposed to a $50,000 set of speakers’. There will even be a ‘How to Build Your Own High-end Speakers, along with experts in the area of setting up High-End Home Theater on a budget”.

T.H.E. Show is being produced in conjunction with the L.A./Orange County Audio Society which boasts 750 members -the largest such organization in the world according to Society President Bob Levi. Levi, a past President for Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta says, “We suspect this will become an annual event with worldwide notoriety. An event which will become a “Must Do” for anyone interested in Audio and Home Theater, from the novice to those who have enjoyed ‘music and superior sound’ for decades.” And, apparently, the industry has tremendous faith in T.H.E. Show Newport: Official Sponsors include some of the biggest names in the industry, including The Absolute Sound and Stereophile magazines, the two largest magazines on the subject in the U.S.; Hi-fi+; Widescreen Review magazine; Home Theater magazine; “on-line” audio giants including AV Guide; Stereophile.com; Enjoy the Music; Positive Feedback; Audiogon; AudioEvo and event specialists Crevier Classic Cars and Museum; Southern Wine and Spirits; BluePort International Jazz Festivals with entertainers from as far away as Budapest and friends like the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest and Chicago area Dealer/Distributor Tweak Studio.
For information on Wine Offerings; Seminars; Jazz Concerts plus plus on-line Registration and discounts on Hotels rooms, go to: www.theshownewport.com

All weekend pass including all events: $35 or $15 daily; hotel sleeping rooms are $99 per night.

MartinLogan Ships ElectroMotion ESL for Budget Conscious Audiophiles

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Lawrence, KS – March 23, 2011 – MartinLogan, The Great American Speaker Company, announces shipping of the all new ElectroMotion-ESL (EM-ESL). Not a traditional tweeter and woofer-based design, the EM-ESL features the most affordable full-size (34-inces tall) XStat electrostatic transducer ever designed. Now available throughout the United States for $1,995 per pair, the EM-ESLs will soon be available at high-performance audio retailers worldwide.

Loyalists may remember the Aerius, the first sub-$2K electrostatic speaker launched in 1992 that provided MartinLogan with record sales and more space in the showroom alongside elite speakers manufacturers. Taking the reigns as the newest budget audiophile option, compared to the Aerius, the EM-ESL boasts 40 percent more radiating surface (129 sq. inches) in its re-vamped electrostatic panel and a sensitivity of 91dB into 6 Ohms.

A unique XStat™ transducer (speaker panel) was developed for the ElectroMotion ESL to reduce the gauge thickness of the electrostatic panel’s steel stators. The reduced gauge does not alter the performance characteristics of the panel, however, as a natural byproduct of tighter build tolerances, it does increase the visual transparency of the panel while still allowing the EM-ESL to be effortlessly powered by both receivers and high-end amplifiers alike.

EM-ESL’s XStat MicroPerf electrostatic panel is housed within a radical aluminum and composite AirFrame™ similar to those found on MartinLogan’s flagship products. AirFrame technology rigidifies the electrostatic panel without obstructing playable surface area or interfering with ambience enriching dipole sound radiation. Proprietary Vojtko™ filtering technology seamlessly blends audio output from the high- and mid-frequency electrostatic panel to the low-frequency woofer.

The EM-ESL also features an 8-inch high-excursion, audiophile-grade, doped fiber cone woofer custom designed by MartinLogan’s in-house design and engineering team. This woofer optimizes cone suspension and magnetic flux field to produce high levels of bass output with vanishingly low distortion. Rigid and light-weight, the custom woofer’s diaphragm eliminates cone flexure and maximizes response time to achieve levels of performance approaching that of MartinLogan’s award-winning electrostatic panel design.

Priced at $1,995 per pair (US), matching center and surround channels featuring Folded Motion XT technology will debut in spring of 2011.

More information on MartinLogan’s new EM-ESL speakers can be found on the EM-ESL section of their website.

KEF, the renowned manufacturer of innovative, reference-quality loudspeakers, has announced the new T Series Flat Panel Loudspeaker line has been named a finalist for “Speaker of the Year” by the 2011 CEA TechHome Mark of Excellence Award committee.

As one of the thinnest high performance home theater and flat panel audio systems, the KEF T Series complements today’s stylish flat panel televisions and offers serious audiophile quality sound from exceptionally thin speakers.

The CEA Mark of Excellence Awards program recognizes the best in home electronics products, services and installed technology. Winners of this year’s award will be announced at the CEA Mark of Excellence Dinner Reception held Friday, March 18 at EHX 2011 in Orlando, Fla.

Both the drivers and tweeter are incorporated into cabinets only 35mm deep, delivering true high-fidelity sound in a thin speaker that perfectly complements the aesthetics of the latest flat screen TVs. Sweet and pure midrange performance is assured by a new large diaphragm tweeter developed directly from the Concept Blade loudspeaker project.

The T Series also features KEF’s innovative Selecta-mount system which uses a clever internal connecting system to automatically adjust the crossover depending on how the loudspeaker is mounted, giving users the freedom to place the loudspeakers wherever they want and still enjoy great sound.

Judged by independent systems integrators, manufacturers, consultants and members of the media, the CEA panel recognizes the industry’s most outstanding products across 31 product categories, including home theater speakers.
