Stewart Filmscreen Addresses Latest Trends in the Projection Market With New Solutions On Displaying At CEDIA 2013

TORRANCE, CA and (CEDIA) DENVER, CO – September 25, 2013 – Stewart Filmscreen Corporation® (Booth #1720), industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for the residential and commercial markets, is demonstrating compelling applications for Ultra HD 4K, home cinema, and multi-functional entertainment environments at this year’s CEDIA.

“We have exciting new projection screen solutions that add value for the residential market,” said Grant Stewart, CEO, Stewart Filmscreen. “A big trend with our customers in the A/V residential business is the growth in popularity of projection systems within non-dedicated environments. At our booth this year, we will be showcasing some unique solutions that will demonstrate our focus and commitment to support this growing segment of the market. On the other hand, we will not sacrifice image quality and you will see that with all of these new solutions, we have made great strides to ensure that the customers’ experience with the product will be consistent with the quality and image fidelity they have come to expect from Stewart.”

One example of Stewart’s multi-use screens is their all-in-one blackout shade, projection screen and vertical masking system called Transformer™. Designed to be mounted in front of windows or glass doors, this 3-part electric roll-down screen system is ideal for transforming bedrooms, game rooms and other multi-functional entertainment spaces into a high performance home theater at the touch of a button.

Other highlights at the show will be as follows:

CIMA BY STEWART FILMSCREEN WITH CINEMASCOPE
Also on display at Stewart Filmscreen’s booth will be an extension of the CIMA™ by Stewart Filmscreen line of fixed frame and electriscreen products to now include CinemaScope (2.35:1 aspect ratio) SKUs. There will be 6 standard sizes from 94″ diagonal up to 137″ diagonal, available in fixed frame and above or below ceiling electriscreens. In addition, Stewart is also introducing a new perforated screen material within the CIMA by Stewart Filmscreen line called PerfOrado™. PerfOrado, which will come standard on fixed frame products only, is a perforated version of the CIMA Neve™ (white) screen material, allowing for expanded room design options in standard sizes and better resolution at short viewing distances than other perforated screens. PerfOrado provides outstanding uniformity for an acoustically transparent screen and allows placement of speakers behind the screen for more authentic sound reproduction and an overall more immersive viewing experience.

REFERENCE 4K ULTRA HD DEMO
Demonstrating the capabilities of handling 4K Ultra HD content, Stewart Filmscreen will be presenting a demo on its CE Pro BEST and EXC!TE award-winning Directors’ Choice (DC-100). DC-100 is the ultimate marriage of the world’s best screen material and the most precise masking system available, and sports a 10″ frame profile all around with only 10″ of housing depth. This slimmer profile allows for the maximum possible screen area within a given room dimension. As an added feature, the horizontal masking on the new DC-100 fully closes, protecting the screen from dust and other debris when not in use. DC-100 is compatible with Stewart Filmscreen’s flexible front projection screen materials, all of which are capable of resolutions well beyond 4K. However, not all preferred content is 4K. In fact, much of it is not. With its unlimited masking potential, DC-100 gives the home theater enthusiast the ability to scale the image to the perfect viewing size, given its aspect ratio and resolution. Whether it’s classic movies shot in 4:3, live sporting events in HD 16:9, or the latest Hollywood blockbuster shot in Cinemascope (2.35:1), DC-100 presents the image in its best possible light.
