Spiral Groove Expands Strange Attractors Isolation Devices Lineup to Fit More Loudspeakers and Components

Canalis Audio Now Offers Dedicated Stand for Its Anima Loudspeakers

BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA, August 21, 2013 – Canalis now offers its Anima Stand, a dedicated stand for its Amima ultrahigh-end two-way compact loudspeakers. The custom Anima Stand incorporates a host of refinements that enable the Anima to perform at its best.

Anima_Stand_for_EnFlyer“The Anima Stand was designed to be rigid and acoustically inert, allowing the Anima to play uncolored by secondary vibrations,” said Allen Perkins, founder of Canalis.

The Anima Stand is made from the same lightweight, rigid and resonance-absorbing bamboo used in the Anima loudspeaker’s enclosure. Its three intersecting vertical supports are specifically arranged to dissipate energy with maximum efficiency as it passes from the speaker down to the stand’s base. The speaker is bolted onto the stand from underneath the stand’s speaker base.

The Anima Stand does not reflect energy back up into the loudspeaker, energy that would blur the sound and reduce detail and musical delicacy. The Stand also does not transfer energy to the floor, which would energize the surface and also potentially degrade the sound, especially if the speakers are mounted on a wood floor. The Stand also curtails any possible transfer of sound to the room (or apartment) below the speakers.

The height of the Anima Stand is calculated to provide the correct relationship of the woofer to the floor, and puts the acoustic center of the two drivers at ear level when the listener is seated. The Stand also allows for its rake angle to be adjusted for chairs of different heights.

The Anima Stand has threaded inserts that will accommodate Spiral Groove’s Strange Attractors vibration isolation devices (pictured with stand), for the ultimate in energy dissipation.

The Canalis Anima has been well received in both the high-end audio and pro audio communities. The Anima and Anima Stand are hand-built in Berkeley, California using 3-ply bamboo, a material that is environmentally friendly and has beneficial acoustical properties.

The Canalis Anima Stand is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1,500 per pair. Anima loudspeakers carry a suggested retail price of $3,250 per pair.

Canalis loudspeakers are distributed in the U.S. by Immedia, which also distributes Spiral Groove turntables, pickup arms and accessories, Strange Attractors accessories and QUALIA & COMPANY audio components.
