New Configurations in Geneva, Sonoma, Berlin and Hampton Styles Add Choices and Versatility for Customers and Installers
BLOOMFIELD, CT, June 5, 2008 — Salamander Designs, Ltd., a leading designer and manufacturer of modern furniture, seating and mounting products for Home Theater and A/V entertainment systems, has announced three new Models in each of four basic styles for its flagship Chameleon Collection of audio/video entertainment cabinets.
The new Models, expressed in Chameleon’s four cabinet styles — Geneva, Sonoma, Berlin and Hampton — offer customers and Custom installers a full dozen new choices in cabinetry design. As a result, Models 323, 336 and 337 significantly broaden the modular Chameleon Collection’s versatility, functionality and flexibility, especially for consumers who prefer to conceal their audio or video components.
Model 323 is a wide “twin” cabinet with two 30-inch high doors. Model 336 features two 30-inch high doors flanking a 20-inch high center door below a shelf equipped with a speaker grill. Model 337 is a wide “triple” cabinet with three 30-inch high doors. The new 30-inch high doors introduce the option of fully enclosing Chameleon’s 30-inch high cabinets. Previously, Chameleon cabinets have only been available with 20-inch high doors, and a shelf to occupy the remaining height.
In addition to the new Models, Salamander Designs is also offering new options for Chameleon Collection cabinets, including Extended Rear Panels to better accommodate oversize components, and an Extended Rear Panel with an Active Cooling Kit. The Extended Rear Panels provide more depth and ventilation than standard rear panels, are easily removed for quick component access, and are constructed of heavy-weight powder-coated steel.
The Extended Rear Panel with Active Cooling Kit prevents heat build-up inside the cabinet. It employs a remote thermostat and dual, maintenance-free fans for precision cooling. The rear panels are easily removed for quick component access, and constructed of heavy-weight black powder-coated steel with ventilation louvers.
The Chameleon Collection’s handsome cabinet styles continue to offer numerous standard features, including solid-wood doors, soft-close dampeners, built-in ventilation louvers, infinitely adjustable shelves, and removable rear panels for easy access to component jacks. All employ an extruded aluminum framework, hidden from view and ingeniously designed to support and conceal a series of high-tech accessories that add to their versatility and ease of use. Current accessories include a multiple-outlet power conditioner, and an IR Repeater System that allows any handheld remote to control A/V components installed behind the Chameleon’s solid doors.
Like other Salamander Designs products, the Chameleon Collection is constructed of premium components with exceptional attention to detail, reliability and durability. The cabinets are built in the U.S., and shipped to customers in three to five working days. The new Models further demonstrate how Salamander Designs’ commitment to innovation benefits dealers and customers alike, and helps both dealers and custom installers conduct more business with their established vendors.
