RICHARD GRAY’S POWER COMPANY PROVIDES REMOTE ACCESS TO DEALERS WITH EXTENDER IP

The Extender IP provides useful and time-saving diagnostic features that allow RGPC dealers to identify and fix some problems without making a costly service call.

New Orleans, LA – September 15, 2008 – Richard Gray’s Power Company proudly announces the Extender IP, RGPC’s first networkable device that provides remote power monitoring of both voltage and current for up to eight connected components. When connected to a full power delivery system, the RGPC Extender IP allows RGPC dealers to remotely access and control power via a web browser, telnet serial or SNMP. As a result, if there is a component or system “lock up,” the dealer can simply log into the system and flash the outlet from his desk, thereby eliminating a costly and time-consuming service call.

“The RGPC Extender IP gives our dealers another access point for remotely diagnosing issues in home theater or A/V installations,” says RGPC President Rick Komendera. “If a customer’s system is experiencing problems, the dealer can simply log on to the internet to monitor and adjust the status of each of the eight individual AC power outlets via individualized IP addresses assigned to each outlet. Our dealers and customers want and deserve this type of convenience so we’re happy to deliver a solution.”

Also unique to the market, the Extender IP can set up automatic pings to monitor system status in the background. If the gear does not respond to a ping within user-defined criteria, the Extender IP will automatically, in the background, initiate a predefined action.

Automatic on/off events can also be scheduled for convenience. The RGPC Extender IP’s highly customized firmware interface allows for unit naming, outlet naming, sensor naming and multiple user login/passwords to keep out well-intentioned owners. Finally, the Extender IP allows power sequencing, enabling a high-draw system to be brought up in stages in order to prevent over-current situations.

The RGPC Extender IP is intelligent and proactive. It can protect gear from unexpected spikes, it can be programmed to turn power off at certain times of the day or flash outlets should a lockup occur. The RGPC Extender IP is the next generation of power protection and management, increasing performance and reliability while reducing service calls.

The RGPC Extender IP has an MSRP of $995 and is shipping now. For more information on RGPC, please visit www.richardgrayspowercompany.com.

RGPC’s parallel technology captures and restores instantaneously high-current-on-demand, working cycle-to-cycle to satisfy power-hungry equipment while rejecting power spikes and smaller surges that lead to premature failure of sensitive electronics. RGPC products are proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. and are sold solely through its network of professional audio/video dealers and installers.
