Panamax's PM8-GAV Receives Electronic House TOPS Award at CES 2010

PETALUMA, Calif. — Jan. 26, 2010 — Panamax today announced that its PM8-GAV was honored at CES 2010 with an Electronic House TOPS Award in the “Green Technologies & Devices” category. For a greener home theater, Panamax’s PM8-GAV combines current-sensing to conserve energy, premium noise filtration for increased audio and video clarity, and surge protection in one compact, cost-effective unit.

The 2010 Electronic House TOPS Awards recognize the best technology, products, and services for the connected home. Winners were chosen by EH editors, along with distinguished industry veterans and the magazine’s DIY correspondent.

“We are proud to have our PM8-GAV chosen as a TOPS Award winner in this increasingly important category,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax/Furman. “The PM8-GAV is our greenest product to date, providing consumers with the ultimate solution for an environmentally friendly home theater. Not only does it cut energy consumption, but it reduces the number of destroyed components that reach the landfill, all in one cost-effective product.”

PM8-GAV features and benefits:
• To conserve energy and lower energy bills, the PM8-GAV senses when nonessential equipment is in standby mode, and automatically cuts power off to them
• Premium noise filtration, in addition to isolation between outlet banks, provides increased audio and video clarity
• In the event of power fluctuations or a catastrophic surge, Panamax’s Protect or Disconnect circuitry completely disconnects AC power to connected equipment
• Integrated coax/sat and telephone/LAN line protection prevents electrical surges that travel over cable, satellite, and antenna lines

AT CES 2010, Panamax’s BlueBOLT™ technology for secure, hosted IP system control was also an Electronic House TOPS Award winner in the “Power Management, Conditioning & Backup” category.
