Panamax's MX5102 Battery Back-Up System Wins Exc!te Award at CEDIA EXPO 2009

PETALUMA, Calif. — Oct. 1, 2009 — Panamax today announced its MX5102 battery back-up system was recognized with a Custom Retailer Exc!te Award at CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta. For home theater systems, the MX5102 is Panamax’s first product to combine power management features such as linear filtration and surge protection with battery back-up, all in a single unit.

The Exc!te award, presented by Custom Retailer Magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented to the custom installation professional. The winners were selected from more than 450 nominations received and judged by the magazine’s editorial staff.

“The MX5102 is Panamax’s first product to combine power management features and battery back-up in one unit, and we are honored to have our efforts recognized with this prestigious award,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax/Furman. “Beyond providing UPS functionality, the hybrid unit protects sensitive components and optimizes their performance for a stunning home theater experience.”

Available as a standalone product or as part of a rackmount solution, the hybrid MX5102’s front panel offers an LCD status display that shows the incoming line voltage as well as battery run time remaining in case of a temporary power failure. The unit provides 600VA UPS functionality via two of its 10 outlets, while still providing common power management features such as high-current outlets and 12V triggering to the switched outlet banks.

The MX5102 is available now at an MSRP of $649.95.
