New VidaBox Products on Display at CEDIA EXPO 2011:
LiivController(TM) With vAutomation 2.0(TM): Total Control From Any iPad(R)
The first solution of its kind, LiivController(TM) combines automation controls and multi-room audio into one cost-effective system. Powered by VidaBox’s new vAutomation 2.0(TM) control platform, LiivController provides convenience and system management by allowing any iPad(R), iPhone(R), or iPod Touch(R) to access any equipment via Wi-Fi, turning these popular devices into the ultimate touch screen interface for any system component via IR, TCP/IP, and RS-232 commands sent from LiivController. The powerful vAutomation 2.0 platform can also be used to control any VidaBox media center, giving users complete access to Blu-rays, DVDs, Netflix, and more, and allowing them to browse through their media in the cover-flow style familiar to Apple(R) users.
The ultra-versatile LiivController LC-200 also controls four zones of synchronized multiroom audio, without the need for additional matrix switchers. Running on only 36 watts, this energy-efficient A/V automation controller and music server provides built-in Internet radio support, in addition to a variety of devices with two-way feedback. Audio can be streamed from stored music collections from any device across the network. The LiivController unit features seven 3.5-mm ports that can be used as IR, video sensor, contact closure sensor, or voltage sensor ports. The systems feature built-in IR learners and are expandable using Global Cache devices.

For integrators, the mounts are easy to assemble and install. Optional accessories include the iPCX(TM) charger extender kit for reliable charging via a single CAT5 cable, and the iPower(TM) charging station to continually charge up to four iPads from a centralized location over distances up to 100 feet using a single CAT5 cable.

Control4 Driver for VidaBox
VidaBox and Extra Vegetables Ltd. jointly introduce a Control4 driver, providing direct IP control of any VidaBox Blu-ray, DVD, and music system from any Control4 device. This new driver provides integrators with yet another control system option, on top of existing capabilities with Crestron, AMX, RTI, URC, and other top-tier control systems. Using Extra Vegetable’s new C4 driver, VidaBox systems can be fully controlled via Ethernet — without the use of any IR beads — providing an added level of reliability. Full two-way communications for browsing of cover art for movies, music, and other rich metadata are also in the works.
