State-of-the-Art Dual-Tube Player Features Zero-Clock and Electro Power Technologies, Standard Rack Construction, Audiophile Performance, More
CAROLINA, P.R., Feb. 25, 2009 — Koetsu USA, the U.S. distribution arm of the world-renowned Japanese cartridge manufacturer, introduces into the U.S. market the Koala Tube CD Player by Goldenote, the company’s finest CD player built on a standard rack chassis.
Exquisitely handcrafted in Italy, where Goldenote is based, the Koala Tube features a drawer-type transport designed for excellent rotation stability, a dual-tube output stage, an internal digital-to-analog converter, and Goldenote’s latest digital technologies, including its acclaimed Zero-Clock™ filter and Electro-Power™ power supply system. The CD player delivers a sound that’s natural, vivid and alive. Its exceptional sonic performance is achieved at a reasonable price, yet comparable to CD players costing considerably more.
Goldenote’s Zero Clock technology improves performance by eliminating jitter and clock errors, and includes a very sophisticated digital output filter. Electro Power is the first self-adjusting voltage supply to appear in a consumer CD player. Checking itself 50 times a minute, it enhances audio performance through an innovative current generator that stabilizes micro and macro voltages, delivering a precise and smooth voltage along all signal paths. It guarantees perfect control of the laser pick-up and motor mechanics for disc rotation, with speed fluctuations of less than 0.0001 percent. Through a metal galvanizing process it also shields the CD player.
The Koala Tube’s internal D/A converter, a Burr Brown model with 20-bit resolution, uses an original filter that enables the player to reproduce a very wide bandwidth with low signal compression. A truly balanced player, the Koala Tube also includes balanced XLR outputs, and a balanced analog audio output stage made with two Electro Harmonix 6922 mini-vacuum tubes for state-of-the-art performance. A separate transformer handles such CD functions as the LED indicators, advance, return, and the like to better segregate these operations from the audio signal. In addition to the XLR connections, the rear of the Koala includes analog RCA outputs, a digital S/PDIF output, and an IEC power socket.
The Koala Tube CD Player is available now from authorized dealers for a suggested price of $2,296.
Founded in 1992 and based in Italy, Goldenote manufactures some of the finest audio and video products available, including turntables, tone arms, CD players, amplifiers and speakers. It launched Audio Vox brand products in 1997, and the more ambitious Villa line in 2002. Goldenote innovations include the acclaimed Zero- Clock™, a special digital output filter; Electro-Power™, an innovative system to electronically control speed fluctuations in digital mechanics; and the recent Dual-Speed™ design that enable a CD Player to automatically adjust its speed and reduces the voltage coming to the motor.
