Guifx Launches New Control System Icons Set

Based on Guifx’s Popular Byron Icons, the Control System Set Features 28 Sleek New and Updated Multimedia and System Device Icons

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Sept. 14, 2010 — Guifx, an interface design studio specializing in touchscreen interfaces for home automation and embedded systems, today announced the release of its new Control System icons set. Designed by Guifx’s world-class artists and based on the company’s Byron set of source icons, the Control System set includes 28 sleek new and updated multimedia and system device icons based on feedback from the company’s customers, offering the perfect finishing touch for any design project. Owners of the Byron set are eligible for a free upgrade to the Control System set.

Guifx’s Control System icons set features a total of 67 icons, with 63 extra icons included to provide versatility and choice for integrators. Inspired by the custom electronics industry, the unique set includes a wide variety of multimedia and system device icons, including common A/V system icons as well as new icons for lighting, window treatments, irrigation, and more. For high-resolution touchpanels, the icons are offered in a 512 x 512 size to accent the graphics’ sleek design, and can be quickly resized using Guifx’s CoPilot software for lower-resolution devices.

“At Guifx we take pride in listening to the feedback from our customers, as it is this feedback that drives the evolution of each of our user interface designs,” said Morgan Strauss, director of operations at Guifx. “We don’t believe that customers should have to pay for improvements to products they already own, which is why updates such as the Control System icons set released today are always free. For our customers, this means that buying a Guifx product is an investment and its value only increases over time as new iterations of our offerings are introduced.”

Guifx’s Control System icons allow integrators to differentiate themselves from the competition by improving the user experience and speeding up visual recognition of interface functions, as well as providing an elegant look. Utilizing the icons also offers significant advantages to installers and manufacturers over outsourcing or creating art in-house. In addition to receiving design quality that is second to none, Guifx’s customers can see what they are getting before they make a purchase, know exactly how much it will cost, and have access to icons for immediate download 24/7. A cost-effective solution, once an icon set is licensed for inclusion in a product or software, its use is unlimited.

Using or modifying images from the Internet infringes on the original author’s copyright and poses a potential liability issue. To eliminate worry over copyright infringement issues for its customers, all Guifx designs are drawn from scratch.

Provided as high-resolution PNG images with transparency, Guifx’s Control System icons set is available for download now on the company’s website (www.guifx.com) for $299.99. Customers who have already purchased the Byron icon set may download the updated Control System set for free.
