GoldenEar Technology's New Invisa™ HTR 7000 and Invisa MPX Architectural Speakers Now Shipping

(May 21, 2013 – Stevenson, MD) GoldenEar Technology today announced that the new Invisa 7000 and Invisa MPX are now shipping in both the US and Canada, as well as in GoldenEar’s 25 export markets. The two new models combine together, with one of GoldenEar’s highly reviewed powered subwoofers, into an extraordinary stealth built-in home theater with performance that rivals the finest freestanding systems. The Invisa HTR 7000 and Invisa MPX expand GoldenEar’s architectural offerings to four models, including the award winning Invisa 525 and Invisa 650 introduced last year.

GoldenEar Invisa Series loudspeakers are engineered to deliver superb state-of-the-art sound quality from in-wall/in-ceiling speakers that are designed to blend perfectly with their surroundings and virtually disappear. GoldenEar’s Invisa Series was first introduced with the Invisa 650, Invisa 525, followed now by the Invisa Home Theater Reference (HTR) 7000 and the Invisa MPX models. All four models incorporate a magnetically attached grille-covered/hidden flange construction that helps to make them virtually invisible. A tremendous amount of work has gone into the acoustical engineering and voicing of the Invisa Series speakers in order to deliver the highest sound quality possible in an architectural format. All four models also incorporate a High Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) tweeter similar to that used in GoldenEar’s award winning Triton towers.image-1

Invisa HTR 7000 In-Ceiling Home Theater Reference Loudspeaker: The Invisa HTR 7000 is designed for use as a ceiling-mounted main front stage left-, right- or center-channel speaker in high-quality home theater and music systems, as well as for use as a side or rear surround speaker. It has a flat, round; magnetically attached micro-perf grille that covers the mounting flange for an attractive, nearly “invisible” look. An optional square grille is available. The drivers are mounted at precisely calculated angles so that they acoustically align directly at the normal listening position for exceptional imaging, superior frequency response, remarkable clarity and precise focus. The driver complement combines the same superb 7″ high-definition cast-basket driver used in the acclaimed Aon 3, with a GoldenEar signature High Velocity Folded Ribbon tweeter.

A complex crossover network, with a high-frequency equalization switch, assures perfect blending. In order to achieve open, boxless, three-dimensional imaging that appears to come from across the front wall rather than the ceiling, great care has been taken to minimize deleterious diffraction effects as well as to optimize wave-launch into the room. This is achieved by combining our FocusField™ Technology with a unique Non-Periodic Waveform (NPW) Diffraction Control and Wave-Launch construction.

Invisa HTR 7000 Specifications
Dimensions: 10.5″ (26.7 cm) Diameter x 5″ (12.7 cm) Deep. Cutout: 9″ (22.9 cm) Diameter. Frequency Response: 25 Hz – 35 kHz. Sensitivity: 90 dB. Nominal Impedance: Compatible with 8 ohms. Driver Complement: One 7″ bass/midrange driver, One High-Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) tweeter. Rec. Amp: 10 – 250 Watt/channel.

Invisa MPX MultiPolar In-Wall/In-Ceiling Loudspeaker: The Invisa MPX combines the advantages of a direct-radiating loudspeaker with the enhanced spaciousness and dispersion of a bipolar speaker to make it the perfect choice for the rear or side surround channels of a multi-channel installation, as well as for front main speakers or for distributed audio multi-room installations. It can be easily mounted in ceilings or in walls and is very flexible in terms of orientation. Like the other Invisa Series speakers, it has a flat magnetically attached micro-perf grille that covers the flange for an attractive, nearly invisible look. It combines two precisely angled spiderleg cast-basket 5” bass/midrange drivers, a High-Velocity Folded Ribbon Tweeter (HVFR™) and a complex precision crossover network with a high-frequency equalization switch. Like the Invisa HTR 7000, it features GoldenEar’s unique Non-Periodic Diffraction Control and Wave-Launch technology for enhanced clarity and source-less sound radiation into the room.

image-2Invisa 525 and Invisa 650: The 650 and 525 are designed for in-ceiling and in-wall use. Solidly constructed of a marble-infused polymer, the unitized structure actually has the extraordinary high-definition wide-dispersion driver built as an integral part of the frame/flange construction in order to minimize their footprint. The driver motor structures and cone/voice coil assemblies (5.25”in the 525 and 6.5” in the 650) are based on those utilized in GoldenEar’s Tritons and Aon. Of course, both also incorporate a High Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR™) tweeter and a complex crossover is used to perfectly blend the drivers for superb musical reproduction. The 525s and 650s come standard with a round, paintable MagneLock™grille and there is an optional square grille available. Special attention has been given to achieving wide sonic dispersion that is so important in distributed audio systems. The tweeters pivot to further optimize performance and a high-frequency equalization switch allows precise matching to any environment.
