CEDIA EXPO Shows Steady Growth

DENVER (September 15, 2014) – CEDIA EXPO 2014 showed steady growth in attendance and exhibitor participation. More than 480 exhibitors and 18,500 attendees from 82 countries participated in the 2014 event in Denver. Professional and overall attendance both grew by 3%, and the overall exhibitor footprint also saw growth with a 14% increase in the square footage of the show floor.

“CEDIA EXPO continues to be a vital venue for home technology decision makers to connect and experience the latest and greatest the industry has to offer,” said Don Gilpin, CEDIA Executive Director and COO. “Not only did attendees see where the industry is going on the show floor, they also saw it in the classroom. CEDIA EXPO offered 110 training sessions, 48 of which were new, offering attendees avenues to stay up to date on the skills they need to remain competitive in the industry. From product launches and demos to networking and training events, CEDIA EXPO 2014 proved to be a fantastic success.”

Attendees remained consistent in their professional development with CEDIA training and this year’s certification offerings. All CEDIA Certification exam sessions sold out and 40+ training classes were sold out.

“This was my first CEDIA EXPO, and it was a larger than life experience. No where else have I learned so much in such a short amount of time,” said Jessica Laski,Technician for Southtown Audio Video.

Exhibitors and attendees both noted the high traffic and energy and reported positive experiences across the board.

“CEDIA EXPO has been a phenomenal game-changer for our company. We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the interest and excitement about our product not only from integrators but also potential partners. Being at the show has really helped us see where we should position ourselves in the industry and helped us refine our go to market strategy,” said Timothy Sheehy CEO of Webee.

“We’ve had a great show all around,” said Mark Velliga, Director of Global Chanel Development for Sonos. “It’s been a fantastic venue for us to announce our partnership with Deezer, meet with new and long-time vendors, and offer training for installers.”

“This is without a doubt the richest environment to make invaluable connections within the industry. There is no substitute for this experience; if you’re not here you’re not a player in the industry. We had more scans day one at the show this year than we did for the entire show last time we exhibited,” said Corey Lovett, President of Nexus 21.

“Every time we come to CEDIA EXPO it’s a new experience,” said John Cronk, Director of Hardware Engineering for Russound. “We’ve had great attention on our new products and have had valuable conversations with dealers we have been working with and dealers who are coming back to our company.”

“CEDIA EXPO was an important launch pad for our company,” said Craig Eggers, Director, Content Creation and Playback, Home Theater Ecosystem, Dolby Laboratories. “It provided us with a unique opportunity to showcase Dolby Atmos to dealers, installers, industry experts, and enthusiasts.”

Other show highlights included 72 exhibitors launching 105 home technology products some of which appeared in the New Product Launch Pad: a spot on the show floor where attendees could see new product launches and demos,17 participants in Rookie Row: an area dedicated to new companies breaking into the industry, 100 first time exhibitors, and the celebration of CEDIA’s 25th Anniversary.

For 2015, CEDIA EXPO will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas Oct. 13-17, with the tradeshow floor open Oct. 14-17. Companies interested in exhibiting at CEDIA EXPO 2015 can find more information here or by contacting [email protected].
