Aurender Introduces FLOW: Stylish Portable DAC and Headphone Amplifier with 1TB Optional mSATA Storage

Provides Audiophile-Quality Portable Listening at Almost Half the Price of Competing High-Quality Brands

Burbank, CA February 15, 2015 – Aurender, a leader in high-resolution audio products, has introduced FLOW, a portable digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier that brings audiophile quality to personal listening – and at $1,295, almost half the price of competing systems.

To date, Aurender has been best known for its high-resolution Reference Music Servers, including the W20, X100 and S10. Aurender’s Music Servers received no less than six audiophile industry awards in 2014 alone.

FLOW is a radical but natural new product direction for this innovative company, one that has the substantial advantage of an extensive in-house software team (many so-called “digital” audio companies traditionally go to outside sources for software development). Even with their internal software development team, the FLOW has been in development for almost two years.

“We’ve perfected the art and the ease of delivering high-resolution audio in the home with our award-winning Music Servers,” said Harry Lee, Aurender’s Director. “With FLOW, it’s possible to bring the high-resolution listening experience wherever you go, all at an unmatched price. FLOW quite simply is the future of quality personal audio, being much more affordable for consumers — and it’s here today.”

FLOW’s 32bit/384kHz, DSD64/128 DAC expertly renders the most robust of high-resolution audio content. In addition to its USB 3.0 and SPDIF optical inputs, there is a 1/4 inch/6.35mm headphone jack.

In keeping with its advanced capabilities, FLOW’s Industrial Design is equally noteworthy — and exceptionally attractive. The DAC and amp are housed in a sleek, undulating satin aluminum case with an LCD multiple-status display, which is inside a velocity-sensitive volume control dial for added convenience.

Playback controls on the just under one-pound device include a power button, MENU, MOVE UP/DOWN, and PLAY/PAUSE.

In addition to producing exacting, powerful high-resolution sound through even hard-to-drive headphones, FLOW can optionally store up to 1TB of music via its user-installable mSATA slot, making it a highly convenient personal, portable DAC/headphone amp. Thanks to this substantial storage, FLOW can conceivably contain a user’s entire music library, including both high-resolution and lower-resolution files.

FLOW is available from selected Aurender dealers and on the Aurender website at a Suggested Retail Price of $1,295. A luxurious leather case is included [unlike the more expensive competition, for whom it’s optional].
