PHC REBRANDS AS PRO – Pro Audio Technology

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Huntington Beach, CA (September 1, 2010) – Professional Home Cinema (PHC) has announced a change in product branding to Pro Audio Technology. Widely recognized as a premium provider of advanced DSP-driven loudspeaker and amplifier systems for high performance home cinema installations, Professional Home Cinema is applying its professional based engineering expertise to a broader range of residential audio installation applications.

Larry Reagan, vice president of PRO says, “The Pro Audio Technology name conveys a more powerful message to the market—that we’re committed to bringing professional technologies and performance standards not only to the theater, but to distributed audio and other installation applications as well. The stronger, more encompassing name will support our sales reps, international distributors, and dealers as they present PRO products to their customers.”

The company’s unique approach to product engineering has produced a full range of systems boasting commercial cinema output levels, unrestricted dynamics, and amplifier power levels capable of providing true-to-life performance. Pro Audio Technology employs sophisticated digital signal processing to achieve high level frequency response shaping, steep 8th-order crossover slopes, time alignment, and advanced boundary effect correction.

All Pro Audio Technology speakers use high-sensitivity horn loaded compression drivers and professional grade woofers. Amplifiers employ high powered class-D technology to bi-amp (or even quad-amp) each loudspeaker with system power ranging from 2500 to as much as 25,000 watts. The result is dynamic and articulate sound that simply cannot be achieved with conventional consumer loudspeakers and amplifiers.

“The brand name Pro Audio Technology accurately reflects the company’s pledge to deliver professional standards in the areas of product performance, reliability, and ease of installation and operation to all aspects of the home environment” said Paul Hales, President of Professional Home Cinema.

A new PRO logo, website (www.proaudiotechnology.com) and online support materials will feature the new name. The old website will redirect to the new one as soon as it is up and running.

Velodyne Launches New Website

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Improved site offers in-depth product information, easier navigation and an all-new graphic design

Morgan Hill, CA (April 19, 2010) ¾ Velodyne Acoustics, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of powered subwoofers for home theater and consumer audio, has announced the official launch of an enhanced and improved website at www.velodyne.com.

Educating consumers about high-performance bass and guiding them through the process of selecting the right subwoofer was paramount to the redesign of Velodyne’s site. The Velo Lounge section houses a collection of articles on topics ranging from the basic functionality of a subwoofer to differences in subwoofer design and the benefits of using multiple subs. The easy-to-read In-Room and Built-In subwoofer sections provide an overview of the different Velodyne product lines.

In the What-to-Buy section, simple questions are asked of the visitor based on various parameters such as listening area size and available placement options. Then, suggested products are shown that are tailored to the particular requirements of the consumer. The section features a dealer locator and feature comparison options.

There is also a dedicated section for the CBP (Certified Bass Professional) education program. The program educates home theater and music professionals about strategies involved in providing great bass to their customers. CBP classes are accredited by CEDIA and attendees can earn CEDIA Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Among the many improvements to the redesigned site is the ability to quickly compare basic specifications on up to three Velodyne subs at once; an all-encompassing product section with in-depth content, images, specs, dimensional drawings and downloads; expanded photo gallery; the ability to download Velodyne logos; and a comprehensive download section with service forms and bulletins, manuals, software updates, detail sheets and wallpapers.

“Velodyne’s new website invites visitors to share our passion for great bass,” said Bruce Hall, president of Velodyne. “From browsing interesting articles, to reviewing specs, to determining the right product for a specific application, the site has something for every bass enthusiast. We hope our guests will enjoy navigating the new site as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
