Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA), designer and manufacturer of award-winning stereo and home theater speakers, will be previewing its new concept ultra-thin, on-wall high-performance speakers and subwoofers at CES 2012 in Venetian room 29-332. The new speakers were designed to be some of the most compact on the market, while still delivering the signature, award-winning AGA sound.

The collection consists of three on-wall speakers and a floor standing speaker all with 2” drivers, and subwoofers with 6”, 8” and 10” drivers, which are designed to be free-standing, on-wall or in-wall. All of the products have a crossover-less design and include the company’s patented S2 Technology, which enhances low-frequency extension.

Each speaker will be a slender 1 3/4” deep and 3 5/8” wide. The 12” on-wall has two drivers, the 24” has four drivers, and the 30” on-wall center channel has five drivers. There will also be a 48” floor standing speaker sporting six drivers. Each on-wall speaker will have matching table and floor stands available as accessories.

The company will have more information available at CES, and media are encouraged to stop by the room to learn more about this state-of-the-art on-wall series of loudspeakers and subwoofers.

Anthony Gallo Acoustics all-new Classico wooden box speaker line now shipping

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA), designer and manufacturer of award-winning stereo and home theater speakers, has announced the release of its all-new Nucleus® Classico Series of loudspeakers. The Classico Series combines the company’s patented CDT 3™ tweeter, proprietary S2 Technology, the new BLAST (Backwave Linearization and Synchronization Technology) System and additional bass loading to deliver unprecedented power and clarity from a diminutive wooden box enclosure.

“With the development of our new technologies, we found a way to bring the benefits of our critically acclaimed spheres to a box loudspeaker,” says Anthony Gallo, founder of AGA. “With this, we now offer a speaker that will elegantly blend into any lifestyle or décor. And like every other product we design, the Classicos still achieve a world-class price-to-performance ratio.”

AGA’s newest technology is the implementation of the BLAST System. Part of the system includes the improved acoustic impedance match between the driver and the air, which simply stated, allows the speaker to play louder, deliver exceptional bass and perform overall like a speaker many times its size. And all with less power!

There are seven different products in the new Classico line, which includes the Classico CL-1 & CL-2 mini monitors, CL-3 &; CL-4 floor standing, and CL-C center channel. The line also has two subwoofers, the CLS-10 and CLS-12. All Classico speakers featuring the patented CDT 3™ tweeter (the CL-1 does not) have the ability to alter the level of the high-frequency output without using a switch, which would have a negative effect on the sound. The CL-2 bookshelf speaker also has the ability to rotate the tweeter 90 degrees without compromising its soundstaging and imaging capabilities.

The highly anticipated “Un-Box” loudspeakers are now shipping!

Visit us at Facebook.com/AnthonyGalloAcoustics for more news and updates from AGA.

About Anthony Gallo Acoustics:
Formed in 1994, Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA) has been raising the bar in loudspeaker design and technology ever since. Specializing in audio products that exemplify the term “price-to-performance ratio,” AGA is a pioneer in spherical enclosure technology. While universally accepted as the ideal enclosure shape, the sphere’s inherent standing wave issue prevented companies from bringing a ball-shaped speaker to market. AGA solved this problem with its patented S2 Technology, which also enhances low-frequency extension and regulates acoustic impedance. Thus, AGA has won numerous awards and accolades for its unique products and innovative technologies such as its powerhouse Nucleus® Reference 3, the smaller, titanium-driven A’Diva Ti and revolutionary Cylindrical Diaphragm Transducer (CDT™) tweeter. Today, AGA’s products are sold in more than 73 countries, including a complete line of stereo speakers, home theaters speakers & systems, powered subwoofers and installation accessories that complement their award-winning speaker systems.

Paradigm Introduces Monitor Series 7 Subwoofers

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12, the first series of subwoofers designed specifically for use with the Monitor louspeaker line

Toronto, ON – October 26, 2011 – Paradigm proudly announces the addition of three new subwoofers to its recently announced Monitor Series 7 speaker line. Featuring the same new streamlined aesthetics and smaller footprint that define the updated Monitor lineup, the new Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12 also boast a number of trickle-down technologies from Paradigm’s award-winning Signature and Studio Series subwoofers, ensuring no-holds-barred, foundation-rattling performance from a smaller, more conventional-looking package.

Paul Wojciechowski, Manager of Product Development says, While Paradigm is dedicated to using the best available materials when constructing subwoofers and speakers, we are equally committed to researching innovative design techniques that can drive the premium materials to their absolute potential in a smaller, more efficient, more affordable package. The ambition behind the Monitor Series 7 subs was to further improve bass response, even in the 8-inch model that is ideal for the smallest listening spaces.”

The Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12 are engineered around the same single-driver design. The SUB 8 and SUB 10 both feature a mineral-filled polypropylene cone with a corrugated Santoprene surround (8 and 10 inches, respectively) first seen in the company’s ultra-high-end Signature Series, a 1½-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, Nomex spider, 4.5 lb ferrite magnet and an AVS die-cast heat sink chassis. The SUB 12 turns up the heat with a 2-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, 6.5 lb ferrite magnet, along with dual Nomex spiders and AVS die-cast heat sink chassis.

All three subs feature internal Ultra-Class D amplifers delivering 900 watts Dynamic Peak/300 watts RMS Sustained power and boast low frequency extension of 19 Hz (SUB 8), 17 Hz (SUB 10) and 16 Hz (SUB 12) (DIN). The Monitor subs are wireless-ready; with the addition of Paradigm’s PT-2 transmitter (sold separately), up to four Monitor subwoofers can be daisy-chained simultaneously.

Each sub in the line comes with an integrated USB port for PBK (Paradigm’s Perfect Bass Kit) equalization (sold separately), which analyzes the subwoofer’s response in a room and then sets the correct equalization parameters to obtain optimal sound, even with less-than optimal placement. Even when the finest subwoofer is placed perfectly, bass can sound bloated or boomy due to imperfect room acoustics. The PBK system measures the subwoofer from multiple positions in the room to highlight problem areas and calculate the correct EQ curve, resulting in pitch-perfect bass tailor made for the room.

Paradigm’s Director of Marketing, Mark Aling added, Given that these are Paradigm’s first Monitor Series subwoofers we wanted to make sure we did justice to this beloved line. The Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10, and Monitor SUB 12 are not only a beautiful visual match for the new Monitor Series loudspeakers, but as with their counterparts, the subs also represent incredible performance at an incredible value.”

Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Paradigm’s state-of-the-art Toronto, Canada facility, the Monitor Series 7 subwoofers are the perfect complement to the newly launched Monitor Series 7 line of loudspeakers.

All three subs are available in Black Ash to match the Monitor Series loudspeakers and estimated US FMV pricing for the series is as follows: Monitor SUB 8 is $699, Monitor SUB 10 is $849, Monitor Sub 12 is $999. The PT-2 wireless transmitter and Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) are optional accessories and have a US FMV of $149 and $99 respectively. For more information on Paradigm, please visit www.paradigm.com

Pro Audio Technology Broadens Presence In CI Market With Affordable Options For Distributed Audio And Media Rooms

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

Huntington Beach, CA (January 28, 2011) – Building on the success of its initial high-output in-wall loudspeakers, Pro Audio Technology (PRO) has expanded its offering of designer-friendly products to include new in-wall, in-ceiling and subwoofer models. Featuring professional components and DSP optimization, the new models bring PRO’s unique high-output performance to a lower price point than previously available.

The SCRS-5iw in-wall loudspeaker joins a ¾-inch compression driver to a PRO-designed elliptical horn for broad dispersion of high frequency energy. Its 5-inch woofer employs a powerful ferrite magnet with an oversized voice-coil, resulting in a high-sensitivity design capable of output levels of 110dB and a dynamic range typically associated with larger floor standing loudspeakers. Measuring only 3 7/8-inch deep, the SCRS-5iw installs easily in a standard 2 x 4 stud bay.

The SCRS-25iw ceiling loudspeaker integrates the drivers of the SCRS-5iw in a dual woofer configuration providing greater sensitivity and higher maximum output level of approximately 115dB. Functionality is enhanced by an angled baffle design – ideal for applications where directing sound toward a specific listening position is desirable. The all-metal construction provides robust build-quality commensurate with the product’s bulletproof performance and includes a back-box that easily fits between 12-inch on-center joists.

To compliment their full-range speakers, PRO is introducing two new subwoofers. The LFC-12im features a highly specialized 12-inch woofer in a shallow enclosure engineered for easy retrofit installation in a traditional 2 x 4 stud bay. A powerful neodymium motor and huge 5-inch voice-coil deliver deep, tuneful bass at output levels belying the LFC-12im’s unobtrusive size (115dB max output). For more demanding applications, PRO’s new LFC-14sm high-impact floor-standing subwoofer employs a proprietary long throw 15-inch driver housed in a compact enclosure. A black textured paint finish is standard. Wood veneer is available at an up-charge.
Each product is engineered for simple retrofit installation, requiring only minutes to install and all in-wall and in-ceiling models come with a bezel-less, paintable metal grille. Like other PRO products, the new loudspeaker models are designed for bi-amp operation using the company’s DSP-driven digital amplifier technology to maximize performance. Passive (single amp) operation will also be available.

Pricing is available through authorized PRO dealers.

Procella Audio and Epic Home Cinema to Build THX Certified Screening Room on CEDIA Expo Floor

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

Procella Audio, Epic Home Cinema and THX Combine Forces to Present the First Ever Full-blown THX Certified Screening Room on a Tradeshow Floor

- THX® Certified Screening Room* is located at the Procella Audio booth 4172 on the CEDIA Expo floor

- Designed and constructed to THX specifications by Epic Home Cinema

- Procella’s flagship THX Approved speaker system makes its CEDIA debut in the THX Certified Screening Room

- Epic Home Cinema to showcase their unique advanced acoustical and aesthetic design and build services

- Room features THX Certified and THX Approved products from Runco, Integra, QSC Audio, Meridian and Stewart Filmscreen

Venice, Calif. and Atlanta, Georgia – September 8, 2010 – Procella Audio, manufacturer of high-performance high-output speaker systems for home and professional cinema and music applications, announced today that the Procella Audio booth at the upcoming CEDIA Expo will feature a THX Certified Screening Room* designed and constructed by Epic Home Cinema. Exclusive presentations for attending media are scheduled for 10 AM and 2 PM on Thursday, September 23.

The THX Certified Screening Room, showcasing Procella Audio’s flagship speaker system, is  designed to the same exacting standards as professional facilities. Initial construction began offsite by Epic Home Cinema of Marietta, Georgia. Before the show, the room will be dismantled, moved to the CEDIA Expo floor, and rebuilt by the Epic team. Once complete, the room will be tested by THX to earn the highly coveted THX certification for residential Screening Rooms.

In order to earn THX certification, residential screening rooms must closely mirror the acoustic performance of a full-blown commercial theater or professional studio. The room itself must meet THX standards for room design and construction, including room dimensions, acoustical environment, sound isolation and viewer sight lines. Additionally, all audio and video components must have either THX Approval or THX certification, and the completed room must pass a final evaluation. THX participates in the entire process, from initial design through the  construction phase, and ultimately verifies system performance through a battery of measurements performed onsite by THX engineers.

All audio and video components used in the CEDIA Expo room are either THX Certified for home use or THX Approved for professional studios and cinemas. In addition to Procella, the room will feature products from Stewart Filmscreen, Runco, QSC Audio Products, Meridian and Integra.

The Procella models used in the theater include three active P815s for screen channels, six passive P8 speakers for the surround channels, and two P18 active subwoofers in the baffle wall. Three additional P10 active subwoofers are located in the side and back walls and used as balancing subwoofers. The P815, P8 and P18 have all earned THX Approval for integration into professional facilities, including THX Approved Screening rooms and pm3 rooms (Professional Multichannel Mixing and Monitoring).

“As a manufacturer introducing loudspeakers to the CEDIA audience at Expo, a THX Certified screening room is a dream environment,” said Procella director Chuck Back.  Demonstrating speakers at a trade show, whether in a booth, a so-called sound room or a hotel suite, invariably results in frustration due to poor acoustics and high ambient sound levels. Having a properly designed and built room means that attendees and potential customers will be able to accurately evaluate and fully appreciate the performance of Procella speakers. Having previously worked with Epic Home Cinema and THX, I can say their quality of work is unsurpassed.”

”THX Certification ensures that a screening room reproduces exactly what the director intended. Since we have built a THX-certified home theater, we know the amount of time and effort it takes to accomplish this.  With the stringent standards and specifications of THX, every aspect of a screening room is inspected and evaluated.  Starting with the components, which is exemplified by the incredible performance of Procella Audio and finishing with the optimized acoustical room design, build and calibration, the director’s vision is brought to life.  Many home theater companies may promise a high end theater, but THX Certification is the only way to be sure that the final product meets the quality initially promised to the homeowner. The chance to produce this at the CEDIA Expo, and the opportunity to share this with all the attendees is quite an honor,” stated Epic Home Cinema’s Greg Dawkins.

”We applaud Epic Home Cinema and Procella Audio for taking on the challenge of designing a THX Certified Screening Room at CEDIA Expo,” said Andrew Poulain, of the THX Studio and Cinema team. “Meeting the THX standards for acoustic performance and sound isolation is next to impossible on a tradeshow floor. The result of this collaboration is testament to the design talent of Epic and the performance capabilities of Procella Audio and all of the other THX partners involved.”

Editors and writers unable to attend the media presentations are encouraged to contact Procella to set up private appointments during show hours.

*THX certification pending final testing by THX.
