Aaudio Imports Introduces Majestic Three-Way Speaker System by Lansche Audio of Germany

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

New Model No. 7 Boasts Acoustic Fidelity, Flexibility                                                                                                                                                                 And Innovation Plus Legendary Corona Plasma Tweeter

INTERNATIONAL CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2012 — Aaudio Imports, a leading supplier of world-class high-end audio products, introduces the Model No. 7 Three-Way Passive Loudspeaker System by Lansche Audio of Germany, featuring Lansche’s legendary Corona Plasma Tweeter, at CES 2012, beginning here today.

The No. 7 Speaker unites acoustic fidelity, uncompromising quality and technical innovation with an extraordinary flexibility to achieve the best possible audio experience regardless of room characteristics. It delivers musical performances that sound as direct and natural as when they were originally performed, with no restrictions in dynamic range, frequency spectrum or the pleasure of feeling transported to a live musical experience.

The new No. 7 Speaker includes a new, improved version of the Corona Tweeter, a new aluminum front baffle, integrated adjustable footers for perfect leveling, and bi-wiring terminals. All are housed in a pair of majestic, masterfully crafted cabinets, 69 inches high by 17 inches wide by 24 inches deep, that are as dramatic in appearance as they are dynamic in sound.

The speakers reproduce midrange frequencies using two 4-inch cone drivers from Audio Technologies. They also use four 8.7-inch long-throw drivers for bass, the Corona Plasma Tweeter for higher frequencies, and two passive bass reflex ports in the rear. The 4-inch drivers’ low mass integrates crucial midrange frequencies with the plasma tweeter, while the 8.7-inch woofers consist of coated fabric cones of glass fiber and polyester.

A hallmark of Lansche technology, the Corona Plasma Tweeter, employs an 8mm-long electric arc to directly activate the surrounding air as a sound transmission medium. It comes closer than any other tweeter to the ideal of a point-shaped sound source with zero mass. The tweeter’s arc of resonance-free, voltage-modulated air helps it avoid the limitations of conventional tweeters to achieve outstanding impulse, phase and amplitude response, and an exact, three-dimensional sound. As a result, the No. 7 delivers faithful, coherent musical reproduction with incredible precision, speed and economy.

The rear of each speaker includes a connection panel with input terminals that accept banana plugs and spades for midrange and high frequencies, six terminals for making treble and bass adjustments, an IEC AC power jack, and a fuse. Two jumpers and two cable bridges per speaker are included with each pair of No. 7 Speakers. Bass reflex ports and an on/off switch rest in the middle of each back panel, and pairs of cooling vents are on the sides.

The particular acoustics of a room influence the sound of every speaker. A room’s design, the positioning of the speakers, the influences of furniture, curtains, and other objects can negatively affect the quality of a listening experience. One of the great virtues of the No. 7 is that it can be adjusted to the acoustic properties positioning restrictions of any room in which it is employed. For example, a sparsely furnished room without sound-absorbing elements such as carpets tends to produce an exaggerated treble response. A room with many sound-absorbing elements will make the treble seem duller. The two jumpers on the speakers’ rear terminal panel are for adjusting both the treble and bass responses. To change one, the user can simply pull out a jumper and reinsert it into a more appropriate of the available six terminals.

Lansche’s No. 7 Loudspeaker is available now from Aaudio Imports at suggested prices of $100,000/pair in a Satin Veneer
finish, and $108,000/pair in a High Gloss Veneer
 or Piano Black Lacquer finish.

WADAX ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH AT THE 2012 CES

CARLSBAD, CA JANUARY 4, 2012 — WADAX of Spain, a world leader in advanced digital audio electronics and maker of the PRE 1 universal digital preamp / phono amplifier announces it reference loudspeaker’s debut during the CES. Our active system demonstration will take place in the Venetian, 30th floor, room 232.

The La Pasión is a three way $106,500, self powered digital loudspeaker.

Only a source is required to complete the system. Each driver is independently powered. DACs inside each La Pasión loudspeaker have a specifically designed current output stage to directly drive the tweeter with no degradation of the DAC performance. Individual 400-watt Wadax digital amps drive the midrange and woofer modules. Additionally, binding posts are provided to externally amplify the midrange drivers if desired.

All of the electronics including amplification and digital to analogue processing are contained in the mechanically isolated aluminum module at the bottom of the loudspeaker. The La Pasión also incorporates an analog input for use with any preamplifier.

“In my quest for uncompromised sonic purity, there are no elements between the drivers and the power amplifiers. No cables, caps, inductors or resistors. The same D/A electronics inside the PRE1 Universal preamplifier are used inside each speaker.

This allows maximum utilization of the Wadax proprietary musIC chip which manages the crossover, mechanical non-linearity corrections, amplitude and time alignment and all other signal processes”, said Guadalajara.

MODVO expands their second-generation products

For nearly 2 years, our 2nd generation products have been in work for some time now.  The very first 2nd generation speaker was Introduce as the EX-90 (from the Executive Line).  This product was in beta testing with a release date in February of 2010, but due to unavailable parts, this product had to be put on the shelf.  In response to this misfortune, we decided to continue the push of our 1st generation products (Reference MM-100 and CM-100 Modules).  The Reference Mini Monitor 100 (reference MM-100) speaker (nearly 3 years old) still holds its own and offers exceptional quality and performance for the price.  At just $250 a pair, these speakers offers  hand built cabinets and crossovers with high quality components that use point-to-point soldering (no PC boards), usually found in speakers costing almost twice their price.

Studio Monitoring

Part of our second generation products will include a full-line of studio monitor speakers.    This new line-up will be geared towards individuals who are in the field of music and mixing.  This line will follow the traditional design of the CM-100 monitor speaker.  The not so flashy, but more serious look will draw professionals and individuals who care more about sound quality and accuracy rather then looks.  “We are really excited about this new line-up, these speakers have just the right sound we been looking for, not too bright or harsh.”  The Studio 8 version (larger 8″ model) offers accurate sound that is well balance and realistic sounding.

To Come

We believe our 2nd generation products will take a big step forward from our previous models with more accurate sound.  This will set the stage for our ideas to grow and hopefully become the choice of many consumers and professionals to come.

Anthony Gallo Acoustics all-new Classico wooden box speaker line now shipping

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA), designer and manufacturer of award-winning stereo and home theater speakers, has announced the release of its all-new Nucleus® Classico Series of loudspeakers. The Classico Series combines the company’s patented CDT 3™ tweeter, proprietary S2 Technology, the new BLAST (Backwave Linearization and Synchronization Technology) System and additional bass loading to deliver unprecedented power and clarity from a diminutive wooden box enclosure.

“With the development of our new technologies, we found a way to bring the benefits of our critically acclaimed spheres to a box loudspeaker,” says Anthony Gallo, founder of AGA. “With this, we now offer a speaker that will elegantly blend into any lifestyle or décor. And like every other product we design, the Classicos still achieve a world-class price-to-performance ratio.”

AGA’s newest technology is the implementation of the BLAST System. Part of the system includes the improved acoustic impedance match between the driver and the air, which simply stated, allows the speaker to play louder, deliver exceptional bass and perform overall like a speaker many times its size. And all with less power!

There are seven different products in the new Classico line, which includes the Classico CL-1 & CL-2 mini monitors, CL-3 &; CL-4 floor standing, and CL-C center channel. The line also has two subwoofers, the CLS-10 and CLS-12. All Classico speakers featuring the patented CDT 3™ tweeter (the CL-1 does not) have the ability to alter the level of the high-frequency output without using a switch, which would have a negative effect on the sound. The CL-2 bookshelf speaker also has the ability to rotate the tweeter 90 degrees without compromising its soundstaging and imaging capabilities.

The highly anticipated “Un-Box” loudspeakers are now shipping!

Visit us at Facebook.com/AnthonyGalloAcoustics for more news and updates from AGA.

About Anthony Gallo Acoustics:
Formed in 1994, Anthony Gallo Acoustics (AGA) has been raising the bar in loudspeaker design and technology ever since. Specializing in audio products that exemplify the term “price-to-performance ratio,” AGA is a pioneer in spherical enclosure technology. While universally accepted as the ideal enclosure shape, the sphere’s inherent standing wave issue prevented companies from bringing a ball-shaped speaker to market. AGA solved this problem with its patented S2 Technology, which also enhances low-frequency extension and regulates acoustic impedance. Thus, AGA has won numerous awards and accolades for its unique products and innovative technologies such as its powerhouse Nucleus® Reference 3, the smaller, titanium-driven A’Diva Ti and revolutionary Cylindrical Diaphragm Transducer (CDT™) tweeter. Today, AGA’s products are sold in more than 73 countries, including a complete line of stereo speakers, home theaters speakers & systems, powered subwoofers and installation accessories that complement their award-winning speaker systems.

Anthem Statement M1 Amplifier Redefines Class D Category

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

The one kilowatt, single rack unit Class D mono power amplifier outperforms its class with sophisticated monitoring circuits that maintain proper frequency response, even when powering the heaviest speaker loads using a 120V line.

Toronto, ON – November 14, 2011 – Anthem, the leading manufacturer of high-end electronics for music, home theater and distributed audio systems, is now shipping the Anthem Statement M1.  Anthem’s game-changing monaural powerhouse annihilates conventional audiophile wisdom about Class D amplification with flawless fidelity and full dynamic range across all volume levels, flat frequency response and rock-solid stability into even the most difficult loads, no “dead time” crossover distortion, and virtually no noise floor.

What’s more, the M1 makes such radical improvements over previous Class D amplifier designs while still maintaining all of the benefits that Class D design brings to the table. Class D architecture provides tremendous value over traditional Class A and Class AB designs because of its efficient output and smaller form factor, both of which the M1 perfectly embodies. Its heat pipe cooling system and deep side-mounted heat sinks allow multiple M1s, with feet removed, to be rack-mounted directly on one another, each occupying only a single rack unit. Its fanless design also makes the M1 as well-suited for the quietest of listening rooms as it is the most crowded equipment closets.

“The Anthem design team conceptualized the M1 almost 10 years ago, illustrating just how much in-house design and engineering went into producing this amplifier,” said Mark Aling, director of marketing for Anthem. “More than just a slim, technologically advanced monaural, the M1 demonstrates that Class D architecture isn’t fundamentally flawed, it merely hasn’t been implemented well in the past, mainly because it required such a heavy commitment to R&D. We’re fortunate to have the resources necessary to create such a groundbreaking product and strongly believe our customers will appreciate the effort.”

Don’t be confused by the “D” in “Class D”—the Statement M1 is not a digital amplifier. It boasts all the warmth and clarity of a traditional amp, in addition to a temporal resolution more than 80 times that of the audiophile-favorite SACD format, and does so with an astounding amount of power. While Anthem’s own award-winning Statement P5, for example, outputs 500 watts with a 4-ohm load, the M1 delivers 2,000 watts to the same speaker, with total harmonic distortion remaining under 0.1% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. (Into 8 ohms, it delivers 1000 watts with a less than 0.06% total harmonic distortion.)  And frequency response is load-independent, so the difference in response between a 2-ohm load and an open circuit is an astounding 0.1 dB at 20 kHz. Between 4 ohms and 8 ohms there is absolutely no change in frequency response.

The Statement M1 attains this level of power, performance, and consistency through the employment of a few key technologies, including a proprietary load monitoring system that relies on a Digital Signal Processor—outside the signal path!—to monitor line voltage, output current, ground fault detection, temperature, and DC voltage at the output to ensure the highest possible output from either a 120V or 240V circuit. Power Factor Correction maximizes available power by marrying the voltage and current cycles, enabling continuous output from the power supply through the entire AC cycle without contaminating the AC line with noise.

While all of this innovation adds up to an amplifier that is admittedly not inexpensive, the Anthem Statement M1 nonetheless represents an unparalleled value in terms of price versus performance, with ample headroom to drive even the most power-hungry speakers, and the utmost in clarity and focus demanded by the most discerning listeners.

The Anthem Statement M1 is shipping now, with a US MRSP of $3499. More information on Anthem can be found at www.anthemAV.com.

MartinLogan Elevates Senses with Launch of Montis

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Montis features the best of MartinLogan’s hybrid electrostatic speaker design techniques, technology and aesthetics.

Indianapolis, IN – CEDIA Expo 2011 – September 8-10, 2011 – Booth #SR-16 – MartinLogan, the world’s leader in electrostatic loudspeaker technology, proudly announces Montis, the newest hybrid electrostatic speaker in the Reserve ESL Series. Inspired by MartinLogan’s renowned CLX loudspeaker, the Montis features controlled dispersion curvilinear XStat™ electrostatic technology, a proprietary Vojtko crossover and DSP engine, and a seamlessly blended woofer system that delivers mid-range clarity, a richly etched soundstage, and tight low-frequency performance with efficiency and finesse.

MartinLogan’s dedicated in-house design and engineering team created an extremely precise 24-bit Vojtko DSP engine in conjunction with a powerful 200-watt class-D amplifier to deliver a stunningly detailed low-frequency performance reaching down to 29Hz—uncommon in cabinets this compact. Additionally, integrated low-frequency equalization below 100Hz further enhances bass performance by allowing precise tailoring to adjust for individual room acoustics.

Superb bass is only part of the Montis’ high-end appeal. The electrostatic transducer features advanced MicroPerf stator technology giving the latest-generation CLS (Curvilinear Line Source) electrostatic transducer almost twice as much exposed diaphragm surface as a traditional electrostat of the same size. This dramatic increase in effective radiating area translates to the highest levels of efficiency and an effortless, unlimited dynamic presentation.

Following in the footsteps of MartinLogan’s award-winning flagship hybrid ESL speaker, the Summit X, Montis blends legendary sound with sophisticated styling. Years in the making, the Montis builds on a number of unique MartinLogan manufacturing techniques and materials that are explained on the MartinLogan ESL Advances section of the new website. Included are: XStat and AirFrame technologies, vacuum bonding, MicroPerf stators, a Curvilinear Line Source electrostatic transducer, dipole sound radiation, a low-distortion aluminum-cone woofer, advanced Vojtko filtering, a 24-bit Vojtko DSP engine, and 100-Hz level control.

For setup and aesthetics, MartinLogan supplies sturdy 3/8-16 ETC spikes, which can be used in place of the standard feet to enhance stability on thick carpets or to create tighter coupling between speaker and floor. The spikes also allow fine tuning of vertical wave launch for mid and high-frequencies.

The Montis comes in three hand-rubbed, real-wood finishes including: Black Ash, Dark Cherry, and new for 2011, High-Gloss Black Cherrywood. The new luxurious High-Gloss Black Cherrywood finish has deep cherry undertones and appears almost black in low light, giving them a unique and understated elegance.

The MartinLogan Montis starts at $9,995 per pair and ships in September 2011.
