Handmade Audiophile-Grade Cable with Large-Gauge Silver Ribbon Conductors Helps Music Breathe  with Effortless Clarity and Resolution

INTERNATIONAL CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2012 — Aaudio Imports, a leading supplier of world-class high-end audio products, introduces the A.S.P. KRAKEN Reference Power Cord by Stage III Concepts, a world-class innovator in audio cable design, at CES 2012.

Stage III’s KRAKEN Power Cords are handmade masterpieces of connectivity, representing the culmination of 16 years of research, materials evaluation, testing, and listener feedback. The audiophile-grade cable uses silver ribbon conductors with air dielectrics to provide audio systems with remarkable, undeniable improvements in sonic performance.

Delivering a breakthrough in AC delivery, KRAKEN power cords impart to musical reproduction a sensation of rock-solid image stability and natural flow. As if powered by limitless energy, sounds breathe with effortless clarity and absolute resolution.

Named after a mythological sea monster of gigantic proportions, KRAKEN cables can be used with all types of audio and video equipment. They enhance the performance of a wide range of audio components, regardless of power requirements, while offering an unprecedented level of precision and control.

In developing the KRAKEN, Stage III created entirely new palladium/silver AeroStrand Ultra™ ribbon conductors. The KRAKEN’s six slow-extruded AeroStrands are larger gauge than usual, cryogenically tempered, and so efficient they can carry more than 40 amperes without the bulk and stiffness of more traditional wires with equal current capacity. The high-efficiency AeroStrands also offer lower resistance and better heat dissipation than traditional stranded cords.

KRAKEN cords also employ silver ground wires individually shielded with silver-plated braids, impenetrable radiation-proof shielding using an exclusive High Density Alloy foil, air dielectrics with FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon® air-tubes, and high levels of mechanical damping. The unique wire geometry features multi-layer construction with a silica/ceramic/ferrite mechanical damping and shielding layer.

The KRAKEN’s custom carbon fiber plug housings, also handmade and polymer-filled, help eliminate external vibrations. Exclusive Hyperion Ceramic plugs use a palladium-plated silver/copper alloy for their electrical contacts. The result is definition, clarity and a noise floor never thought possible, even without the use of a dedicated power conditioner.

Stage III’s KRAKEN Power Cords are available now from Aaudio Imports, among other select dealers, at a suggested price of $8,400 for 1.5 meters with each additional 0.5 meter costing $2,800. Discounts are available on a sliding scale ranging from 6 to 24 percent, depending on amount. They can be seen with other outstanding products represented by Aaudio Imports at the Venetian Hotel, Suites 30-121 and 30-122, during CES.

New W7000 Features 2,000 ANSI Lumen Brightness, 50,000:1 Ultra-High Contrast Ratio, Frame Interpolation, and Native Rec. 709 Color Gamut

IRVINE, Calif. — Jan. 9, 2012 — BenQ America Corp. today introduced the company’s first full-HD 3D home cinema projector, the W7000. Providing consumers with the ultimate in 3D home entertainment, the W7000 is the first projector in the world to be accredited with Full HD 3D Certification by TÜV Rheinland, one of the most trusted certification institutes in Europe.

Powered by DLP Link(TM), the W7000 delivers stunning 1080p 3D images to both of the viewer’s eyes without the distraction of crosstalk. Consumers can enjoy brilliantly rendered 3D movies, live sports, and video games without the hassle of additional equipment. The W7000 provides 2,000 ANSI lumen high brightness, a 50,000:1 ultra-high contrast ratio with a dynamic iris, and support for all HDMI 1.4a 3D signal formats. BrilliantColor(TM) performance technology from Texas Instruments boosts midtone colors to heighten brightness levels, making images more precisely rendered than ever. In addition, the W7000 features VIDI(TM) lighting technology to deliver more lumens on screen than competing systems and normal lamps while increasing brightness by 15 percent for red and blue. The W7000 offers frame interpolation, providing noticeably smoother and more lifelike motion for action scenes by increasing the rate of frames per second and eliminating motion lag, distracting judders, and blurred shadows.

“The W7000 represents an exciting new chapter for us here at BenQ,” said Lars Yoder, President at BenQ America Corp. “What really sets the projector apart is its ability to deliver a ‘real 3D home cinema experience.’ The W7000 allows consumers to enjoy 3D content with full-HD resolution in both eyes. There is no crosstalk and additional emitters and transmission devices are not required, just fully immersive 3D enjoyment.”

The W7000 features the same full-HD-optimized optical system offered by all top-of-the-line home cinema projectors from BenQ, providing viewers with the highest level of clarity and sharpness in every full-HD image. For color precision that matches the human eye, the projector is compliant to the native Rec. 709 color gamut, one of the highest HD video standards for professional-grade home projectors. Featuring BenQ’s unique color management system — including independent 3D color control, preset mode, and user mode adjustment — the W7000 gives viewers the freedom to fine-tune hues, contrast, brightness, color temperature, gamma, and white balance levels to match their individual 2D and 3D viewing preferences. The system is ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), which enables viewers to enjoy a perfectly calibrated picture along with two optimized modes — ISF Day and ISF Night — for an unparalleled viewing experience.

For flexible placement in the home, the W7000 offers a versatile 1.5:1 zoom range and 1.62 to 2.43 throw ratio. The projector’s H+V lens shift technology provides up to 125 percent vertical and 40 percent horizontal lens shift adjustment with zero vertical offset. This allows the focal point of the lens to be adjusted in home theaters where center placement isn’t possible. Also, Panamorph(TM) lens compatibility allows viewers to show 2.35:1 aspect-format video — such as major studio movies — in its original widescreen format at maximum resolution with no image distortion or letterboxing.

The W7000 will be available for the North American market in Q1 2012 at an MSRP of $3,999. The unit will make its debut at the 2012 International CES Jan. 10-13, in Hilton Suite 28-105.

More information on the W7000 and the full line of BenQ products is available at www.BenQ.com.

INTERNATIONAL CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2012 — Pass Labs introduces the Xs-300 and Xs–150 Amplifiers, first entries in a new generation of Xs Series amplifiers, at CES 2012.

Thursday, January 5th, 2012

INTERNATIONAL CES 2012, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10, 2012 — Pass Labs introduces the Xs-300 and Xs–150 Amplifiers, first entries in a new generation of Xs Series amplifiers, at CES 2012.

The new amps are designed to measure well objectively and, equally important, sound subjectively as well as they measure, an exacting engineering challenge that has led to a multitude of ear-pleasing refinements. Pass Labs’ new enhancements further narrow the gap between what scientific measurements report about amplifier performance and what the human ear subjectively hears.
Pass Labs’ Xs-300 Amplifier, from their brand new Xs-Series of Power Amplifiers, uses massive double-stacked chassis.

The Xs-300 and Xs–150 Amplifiers are monoblock models delivering 300 and 150 watts, respectively. Both models employ double-stacked chassis, with the power supply and current source in one chassis and the input and main output stage in the other chassis. The separate power supplies enable a bounty of benefits, including lower electromagnetic noise, twice as much storage capacitance as earlier Pass Labs amps, banks of high-speed/soft-recovery rectifiers, improved high-frequency noise filters, bigger and better transformers, improved passive decoupling, massive heat sinks, and lower standby currents.

The Xs Series has been three years in development. The first year, Pass Labs settled on the power supply and physical package. The second year, Pass Labs finalized the output stage and front end. The third year, the company refined the front end and the biasing of the output stage.

In the process, Pass Labs applied a number of new refinements, including adjusting the values for push-pull Class A biasing and the amount of single-ended bias in the output stage. It also significantly increased the single-ended bias in the output stage over earlier Pass Labs amplifiers. All three changes delivered major improvements. Pass Labs also installed sturdy output stage transistors, with a combined capacity well over 10 KW, and massive heat sink assemblies capable of 2 KW all day long.

The Xs-300 and Xs–150 Amplifiers will be available in the First Quarter 2012
from authorized Pass Labs dealers at suggested prices of $85,000 and $65,000
per pair (U.S. MSRP), respectively. They can be seen with other outstanding
Pass Labs products at the Venetian Hotel, Suite 29-236, during CES.

Paradigm Introduces Monitor Series 7 Subwoofers

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12, the first series of subwoofers designed specifically for use with the Monitor louspeaker line

Toronto, ON – October 26, 2011 – Paradigm proudly announces the addition of three new subwoofers to its recently announced Monitor Series 7 speaker line. Featuring the same new streamlined aesthetics and smaller footprint that define the updated Monitor lineup, the new Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12 also boast a number of trickle-down technologies from Paradigm’s award-winning Signature and Studio Series subwoofers, ensuring no-holds-barred, foundation-rattling performance from a smaller, more conventional-looking package.

Paul Wojciechowski, Manager of Product Development says, While Paradigm is dedicated to using the best available materials when constructing subwoofers and speakers, we are equally committed to researching innovative design techniques that can drive the premium materials to their absolute potential in a smaller, more efficient, more affordable package. The ambition behind the Monitor Series 7 subs was to further improve bass response, even in the 8-inch model that is ideal for the smallest listening spaces.”

The Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10 and Monitor SUB 12 are engineered around the same single-driver design. The SUB 8 and SUB 10 both feature a mineral-filled polypropylene cone with a corrugated Santoprene surround (8 and 10 inches, respectively) first seen in the company’s ultra-high-end Signature Series, a 1½-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, Nomex spider, 4.5 lb ferrite magnet and an AVS die-cast heat sink chassis. The SUB 12 turns up the heat with a 2-inch 4-layer copper-clad aluminum voice coil, 6.5 lb ferrite magnet, along with dual Nomex spiders and AVS die-cast heat sink chassis.

All three subs feature internal Ultra-Class D amplifers delivering 900 watts Dynamic Peak/300 watts RMS Sustained power and boast low frequency extension of 19 Hz (SUB 8), 17 Hz (SUB 10) and 16 Hz (SUB 12) (DIN). The Monitor subs are wireless-ready; with the addition of Paradigm’s PT-2 transmitter (sold separately), up to four Monitor subwoofers can be daisy-chained simultaneously.

Each sub in the line comes with an integrated USB port for PBK (Paradigm’s Perfect Bass Kit) equalization (sold separately), which analyzes the subwoofer’s response in a room and then sets the correct equalization parameters to obtain optimal sound, even with less-than optimal placement. Even when the finest subwoofer is placed perfectly, bass can sound bloated or boomy due to imperfect room acoustics. The PBK system measures the subwoofer from multiple positions in the room to highlight problem areas and calculate the correct EQ curve, resulting in pitch-perfect bass tailor made for the room.

Paradigm’s Director of Marketing, Mark Aling added, Given that these are Paradigm’s first Monitor Series subwoofers we wanted to make sure we did justice to this beloved line. The Monitor SUB 8, Monitor SUB 10, and Monitor SUB 12 are not only a beautiful visual match for the new Monitor Series loudspeakers, but as with their counterparts, the subs also represent incredible performance at an incredible value.”

Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Paradigm’s state-of-the-art Toronto, Canada facility, the Monitor Series 7 subwoofers are the perfect complement to the newly launched Monitor Series 7 line of loudspeakers.

All three subs are available in Black Ash to match the Monitor Series loudspeakers and estimated US FMV pricing for the series is as follows: Monitor SUB 8 is $699, Monitor SUB 10 is $849, Monitor Sub 12 is $999. The PT-2 wireless transmitter and Perfect Bass Kit (PBK) are optional accessories and have a US FMV of $149 and $99 respectively. For more information on Paradigm, please visit www.paradigm.com

Walker Audio announces release of all-new Eliminator Directional Antennae

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Walker Audio, Inc., manufacturers of the world-renowned Proscenium Black Diamond III turntable and other high-end audio products, has announced the release of the Eliminator Directional Antennae.  The new antennae improves systems by cleaning up electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) and stray electrical noise in the room and channeling them to the system ground at the negative speaker terminal in the user’s amplifier.

“Like our entire line of high-quality accessories, the Eliminator can improve anyone’s home theater or stereo system almost immediately,” says Lloyd Walker, President and Founder of Walker Audio.  “EMI, RFI and other noise can affect the transmission of the audio and video signal through the system.  There is a degradation of the data that is supposed to be there and the addition of signal that is not supposed to be there.  This means that your system is not accurately reproducing your LPs, CDs, and DVDs and it will not look and sound as good as it should. Adding the Eliminator will help you get rid of a problem you probably didn’t even know you had.”

The Eliminator is a pair of high-speed directional antennae made of pure silver wire with pure silver spades at one end of each wire.  The wire has been tested for directionality and treated cryogenically with a deep immersion process.  By attaching the spade ends to the negative binding posts of an amplifier, users will hear a difference in as little as 30 minutes and will have 90% break-in in 20 hours.

In addition to the Eliminator, Walker Audio also makes products to eradicate the negative effects of dirt, electrical noise, vibrations, static electricity, and other factors that impede and alter the pure audio or video signal. The accessories help reveal the true potential of LPs, CDs, DVDs and BluRay disks regardless of the level of the users system.

About Walker Audio:

Our products enhance the listening and viewing experience for customers with all levels of systems: analog, digital and video.  We specialize in high-end audio components and audio and video accessories. No expense or effort is spared to create the best products possible. We believe that not only is our flagship Proscenium Black Diamond III turntable the finest in the world, but that our other products are also world-class.
