Philips Pronto Launches Lutron’s RadioRA® 2 Module

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Las Vegas, NV – InfoComm 2010 – June 9-11 – Booth C4457 – Philips Pronto, the value leader in two-way control solutions, in collaboration with lighting control manufacturer Lutron Electronics, has announced the availability of a new RadioRA 2 module for Pronto’s line of controllers, including the TSU9300 (limited), TSU9400, TSU9600 and TSU9800. This new module offers integrators a convenient integration between a Pronto touch panel and the RadioRA 2 wireless lighting control system.

Launched in 2009, RadioRA 2 is the next generation of Lutron’s RadioRA wireless whole-home lighting control system, introduced in 1997. RadioRA 2 controls lights, shades, HVAC and more via radio frequency system (RF) communication.

Working closely with Lutron, Pronto has developed a ProntoScript module that allows Pronto users to activate any RadioRA 2 scene with the touch of a finger on any Pronto control panel. This enables users to seamlessly control their lights and shades from the same Pronto controller used to control their entertainment system. (more…)

Autonomic Controls Apple TV Module is Now Crestron SystemBuilder Compatible

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Armonk, NY – May 20, 2010 Autonomic Controls, Inc., the leader in digital media management solutions, has announced that its Apple TV module for Crestron is now fully SystemBuilder compatible.  The compatibility now enables Crestron integrators to integrate the Autonomic Apple TV module into their systems quicker and easier than ever before.

“Autonomic Controls is a long time, valued Crestron Partner, and we are pleased that they have updated their popular AppleTV module to be SystemBuilder compatible,” said Steve Sampson, Director of Business Development for Crestron. “This will provide the opportunity for a much larger Crestron dealer base to deliver a rich AppleTV experience.”

Autonomic’s Apple TV control module, which was announced for integration with Crestron last June, allows for control of multiple Apple TV media servers, and iTunes running on Mac or PC. The module also recognizes Apple AirTunes devices via Ethernet, enabling multi-zone control and media browsing from any touch panel in the home.  Apple TV, in concert with Autonomic’s two way control interface, is an exceptional alternative to iPod Docks, which have been popular in the industry because they allow for the integration of purchased iTunes, but their portable nature (when the iPod leaves home, so do the tunes), and limited storage make it an awkward fit in a custom installation.  As a HD movie server, Apple TV is a home run.  While manufactures in the custom channel are struggling to develop and sustain products that enable the legal storage and consumption of HD Movies and TV, integrators are discovering that Apple TV is the perfect solution; and Autonomic’s IP control modules make it right at home in a custom installation. SurgeX Adds the XN120 to the Eliminator Series

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

The XN120 NEMA solution frees up valuable rack space, eliminates unsightly wires, and protects the most demanding AV system.

Zebulon, NC – May 19, 2010 – SurgeX, the only manufacturer of AC surge elimination and power conditioning products, announces the XN120, the perfect protection solution for multi-circuit residential AV systems where space is at a premium. This compact 120 Volt / 80 Amp unit is hardwired as a subpanel at the service panel or the equipment room and is designed to provide failsafe protection required for multiple circuits

Engineered with professional grade Advanced Series Mode® Surge Elimination Technology and Impedance Tolerant® EMI/RFI noise filtering, the XN120 is the only NEMA enclosure protection product in the market that eliminates surges and transients that can degrade AV system performance and shorten service life. The XN120 frees up valuable rack space and eliminates the need for individual powerline conditioners. In most installations, there are panels located in each room that, until now, have needed to be protected separately. But, with the XN120, there is no need to protect each individual panel with a powerline conditioner at every site. When the panels are connected to a single circuit and fed through the XN120, the SurgeX unit will protect each panel on that circuit. There’s no in wall extension cords, nor individual units to install and maintain. One XN120 circuit will protect an average of 8 panels. In addition, every outlet powered by the XN120 is protected even though there is no PLC at the rack.  (more…)
