CEDIA Launches Inventory Exchange Program

INDIANAPOLIS (March 17, 2010)—The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has launched an all-new member benefit designed to help members better manage their inventory. CEDIA’s new Inventory Exchange program creates a forum where CEDIA electronic systems contractor (ESC) members can arrange to buy and sell excess inventory.
This exclusive CEDIA member benefit is a free program that allows members to list products they wish to unload from their shelves and browse listings from fellow members. Onkyo Introduces the World’s First THX Certified 3D-Ready A/V Receiver

The Onkyo TX-SR608 THX-Certified A/V Receiver is one of several HDMI v1.4, 3D-Ready A/V Receivers and Home Theater Systems that will ship in March and April.

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ, (3/9/10) — Onkyo USA has announced March deliveries of its first 3D-Ready home theater receivers and home theater in a box (HTiB) systems. The new models consist of three A/V receivers and three HTiB systems ranging in price from $299 to $599, and all of them support the new HDMI v1.4 connectivity standard for new 3D video displays and Audio Return Channel capabilities. All are exceptionally well equipped to provide a superior music, home theater sound and video experience, with high build-quality and offering excellent value.

For Onkyo, a name that translates roughly to ‘sound harmony’ in Japanese, sound quality is preeminent. All these new receivers and HTiBs now decode lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio bitstreams, and include new 192-kHz/24-bit Burr-Brown PCM1690 DAC’s that are highly resistant to clock jitter and provide a remarkable 113-dB dynamic range. The lineup includes Onkyo’s new easy-to-setup overlaid onscreen graphical display that lets the user watch the program in the background while using the function menus. RTI Appoints RTi Systems as Full-Line Distributor in Australia and New Zealand

SHAKOPEE, Minn. — March 8, 2010 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that it has partnered with RTi Systems to establish a new distribution channel for the company’s professional-grade, integrator-friendly control solutions in Australia and New Zealand. Under the agreement, RTi Systems will distribute and provide technical support for RTI’s entire line of award-winning handheld and in-wall control panels, central processors, and related accessories throughout the region.

“We are very excited to have partnered with RTi Systems to provide professional ‘best in class’ support for our control solutions in Australia and New Zealand,” said Kris Haggstrom, international sales manager at RTI.

In support of the new distribution channel, RTi Systems’ Brisbane headquarters will be operational as of March 15, and will be equipped to honor all existing and new warranties and service requirements for all RTI products. Additional sales offices are planned for Sydney and Melbourne, with further staff to be established in Perth and New Zealand to provide RTI dealers with a direct contact in each of their territories.

RTi Systems’ Australia/New Zealand operations will be headed by managing director Mark Hamilton, while Richard Pece will lead RTi’s technical/training team. Both have spent several years in the custom installation and distribution industry and have extensive experience with RTI products. (more…)

BTX Technologies Introduces Industry’s First Field-Terminatable HDMI Cable-Mount Connector

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. — March 9, 2010 — BTX Technologies, a global value-added distributor and manufacturer of interface and integration products, today introduced the industry’s first field-terminatable HDMI cable-mount male connector. The innovative device allows installers to quickly and easily create custom length HDMI assemblies of up to 39 feet at resolutions of 1080p, 12-bit deep color.

For A/V, home theater, digital signage, or any other application requiring HDMI, BTX’s new field-terminatable connector resolves the issue of fitting a connector through conduit, and eliminates excess cable behind the rack or inside a wall. This HDMI 1.4 compliant connector is terminated through the insulation displacement connection (IDC) process, which requires only a blade and a HDMI hand tool, and can easily be accomplished with minimal training or skill. Cine-tal Systems, developer of image monitoring and colour management solutions, will include two hd EZ locks with the Davio processor to secure the HDMI Cables to each of its HDMI connections. After testing hd EZ lock both in-house and in the field, Cine-tal Systems determined that by simply connecting hd EZ lock, intermittent HDMI signal dropout issues caused by a loose connection were immediately resolved. hd EZ lock works perfectly with the Cine-tal Davio processor’s HDMI configuration, works with most HDMI Cables on the market, and a typical installation can be done in a couple of minutes with the included installation hardware for each HDMI connection.
