The HD 800 is ‘European Headphone 2009-2010′

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

OLD LYME, Conn. – August 2009 – The new HD 800 premium headphones from Sennheiser have won the coveted EISA Award presented by the European Imaging and Sound Association. In the category ‘European Audio Awards,’ the HD 800 impressed the international jury with its innovative transducer principle. From now on, it can officially bear the title of ‘European Headphone 2009-2010′.

The EISA jury, which is made up of representatives from 50 European special interest magazines, justified its verdict: “Here is a new top-of-the-range model from one of the world’s most renowned headphone manufacturers. The challenge was to create a large diaphragm, essential for powerful bass reproduction, while avoiding unwanted resonances which result in distortion. The solution? Instead of the usual circular shape, the diaphragm is designed as a ring, which provides a large surface area, yet minimizes distortion. The sound is just true to the original, at every frequency from the lowest bass to the highest treble.” The coveted EISA Awards are presented every year for products from the fields of photography, video, audio & home theatre, in-car electronics and mobile devices. Bowers & Wilkins Bows New In-wall Subwoofer

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

North Reading, MA—August 2009 B&W Loudspeakers, the British manufacturer recognized internationally as one of the world’s leading sources of loudspeaker technology, is proud to introduce a new best-in-class in-wall subwoofer, the ISW-4.

According to Doug Henderson, VP of Sales and Marketing. “B&W engineering has been working on an in-wall subwoofer design for quite some time. Why the long wait, you may ask? Sticking a woofer in a wall doesn’t seem that hard after all…and there are many poorly executed designs testifying to this fact. Creating an in-wall subwoofer that meets B&W’s high standards for performance yet is visually unobtrusive and easy to install, however, is a much bigger challenge.” (more…)

NuVo Technologies Terminates Two Preferred Dealers for Internet Sales

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Hebron, KY – August 19, 2009 NuVo Technologies, the value leader in whole home audio, announced today that it has terminated two of its Preferred Dealers for unauthorized internet sales. One dealer based in Indiana sold NuVo equipment on Amazon.com to an end user in Oklahoma, while the other, based in Texas, sold a NuVo product on eBay.com.

As clearly stated in the dealers’ agreements with NuVo, Preferred Dealers are prohibited from selling NuVo products over the internet. They are further prohibited from selling NuVo products to third parties that intend, or that the dealer reasonably believes may attempt, to sell NuVo products via the internet, including sales made through auction and reseller sites like eBay. Preferred Dealers also agree not to merchandise or advertise NuVo products below retail price.

“NuVo has a zero-tolerance policy with regards to unauthorized internet sales of our products,” says Chris Westfall, NuVo’s vice president sales, USA. “Although it is difficult for us in this economic climate to terminate dealers, doing the right thing isn’t always the easy thing. These terminations demonstrate to the vast majority of NuVo Preferred Dealers who play by the rules that we will continue to take aggressive steps to protect their businesses and their margins.”
