AVIA Pro Test DVD is About to be Released

CEDIA EXPO, INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 4, 2003) - Ovation Multimedia today launched AVIA Pro, a revolutionary new multi-disc calibration, set-up and test suite for home theater environments. AVIA Professional (AVIA Pro) offers users a rare combination of state-of-the-art test patterns and industry standards to achieve superior sound and video quality. The announcement was made at the CEDIA EXPO 2003, which takes place in Indianapolis this week.

AVIA Pro, to be released in the fourth quarter of 2003, also contains industry standards as well as monitoring and placement technology. The initial release of AVIA Pro will consist of six discs and a user manual. As standards change and new test patterns are developed, Ovation Multimedia will release new discs and manual chapters to help home-theater enthusiasts, manufacturers and professionals remain current on the latest audio-visual calibration technologies.

"Using AVIA Pro takes the audio-visual experience to new levels by not only improving traditional signals, but also by permitting functions never before possible."

AVIA Pro has more than 1,000 new test signals, with approximately  3,000 variations. AVIA Pro provides offers its users unprecedented flexibility with its variation of patterns. Users can select the  pattern best suited for their needs, resulting in a customized test  pattern generator for each project. Special emphasis was made during product development on testing and adjusting wide-screen and newer video and fixed panel display technologies, including LCD, DLP, LCOS, SXRD and Plasma.

Additional components of the AVIA Pro disc library include:

More than 100 DVD home theater audio tests and sound tones for Dolby, DTS and Surround Sound (up to 7.1)

CEA Standard Method of Measurement for DVD Players, based on NTSC  specifications; the CEA disc contains a suite of audio and video test signals to gauge and evaluate DVD player performance

SMPTE monitoring technology, to alert users to equipment errors in the motion imaging industry, particularly focusing on test patterns for color and motion

RPG's Room Optimizer and Room Sizer, software programs designed to help users achieve ultimate acoustical experience, eliminate distortion, and provides information on the design of the critical listening room environment or studio

Genesis Microchip test patterns to optimize microchip technology and achieve life-like, visibly better images

Despite the large number of test patterns and sound tones, Ovation Multimedia ensures AVIA Pro is easy to use by navigational menus, direct access capabilities and task suite grouping.
