My feelings about the actual recording have not changed in the last few years. This one’s a strange classic. The group was trying to keep up with changing tastes in soul music with Sly Stone and others making a play for the Tempts’ heavyweight title.

I was stoked by my discovery of Impex Records last month when we looked at their version of "Ellington Indigos." It took all the restraint I could muster to take that one off the turntable long enough to explore this month's five records.
