NILES TVA50 PROVIDES A HIGH FIDELITY SOLUTION FOR INTEGRATING LOCAL TELEVISION SOUND WITH DISTRIBUTED AUDIO SYSTEMS
Digital stereo amplifier with built-in automated speaker-level switching touts high power, design flexibility, and compact size
MIAMI, FLORIDA, JUNE 21, 2004 – Niles Audio Corporation today announced the introduction of the TVA50 stereo amplifier with built-in automated speaker-level switching. It’s an easy-to-install application specific solution for attaining high fidelity sound from televisions that relies upon digital amplifier technology for its compact, cool running design. Yet it delivers a capable 50 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms and can power two pairs of loudspeakers. Custom installers typically use the TVA50 to bypass low-grade speakers found in televisions and route the television sound through the TVA50’s high-quality amplifier to the in-wall or ceiling mount loudspeakers of a distributed audio system. The TVA50’s circuitry detects when the television is on and automatically sends the television sound to the loudspeakers for seamless user interface.
“The TVA50 is the ideal solution for systems that need to switch between a distributed audio system and a local television,” said Mike “Sparky” Detmer, Niles vice president of sales and marketing. “It is the ideal solution for attaining high fidelity sound from plasma and flat panel televisions,” Detmer added.
The TVA50 is one of several application specific products in the Niles lineup of automated switching systems. It employs either a current sensing AC outlet or a 12-Volt trigger input to switch reliably between a distributed audio system and a locally installed television. The TVA50 features digital amplification circuit topology and exhibits the best characteristics of both Class D and Class AB amplification. A set of installer friendly features include: compact size, high power output, integrated mounting tabs, removable screwless speaker terminal connectors, level control, gold plated input jacks, and a removable IEC power cord. It is housed in an anodized aluminum chassis.
