DLP vs. LCD

The article was written in 2003. With the changes coming in February is the information still pertinent? I know that some DLP manufacture's have up graded their speed, color wheels, and resolution. Are they equal to or better than LCD now? FOr instance Samsung has a line of "6" series DLP's that claim to prevent all of the mentioned short comings? - Bill Blaha

not sure if any 1080p projectors exist under $1500...

I'm not sure if any 1080p front projectors exist for under $1500.

In the $2000-2500 range, you might be able to find these though (all are LCD):

Mitsubishi HC4900
Sanyo PLV-Z2000
Epson PowerLite Home 1080

I think the cheapest DLP is Optoma HD80 right now. - brg
