Conclusions I knew when I bought my first NAD product that I was moving a step up from the mundane stuff to high end. NAD is still the “real deal” and the C565BEE is a CD player that anyone who loves music should be proud to own. The innovative features are useful and practical while providing some excellent sonic benefits to your music collection (whether physical CDs or the more incorporeal MP3s). With the SRC feature, you know that you are squeezing the best possible sound quality from your music. This player provides solid build, versatility and excellent sound. It is like having a CD player and an outboard DAC all in one. Well done, NAD! Comments (9)

DACs
written by SteveD , June 29, 2009 Which specific Wolfson DACs are being used by the player? Thanks.
DAC in question....Rev. 1.1
written by Jim , July 02, 2009 SteveD- The official word from NAD is that the DAC they used in the C565BEE is the WM8741.
Comparisons
written by Jerry , July 03, 2009 Jim, Great review. Any thought on how this player may compare to the Marantz SA8003? They seem very similar. Thanks.
Comparison...
written by Jim , July 04, 2009 Jerry, I have not auditioned the SA8003, but have no doubt that it sounds great. If you are into SACD, that would be a good choic. But if your preference is making your CD collection sound its very best, I would recommend the C685BEE and use its SRC feature. The only reason I did not hold onto the NAD was my large collection of SACD/DVD-A that I have. This will probably be your deciding factor, too. Are the CL chips better than the WM chips? You'd have to listen and compare them side-by-side.
Cables with NAD in article
written by eric , October 27, 2009 I am going to audition this player this weekend, I am going to bring my Purist Aqueous cable with me (a $900.00 IC)! What cable did you use for the demo? I am betting my cable will make this player sing!!! Do you feel it will respond well to high-end cables?
An able cable....
written by JM7043 , October 28, 2009 eric- I used a Zu Oxyfuel coaxial for a digital connection and my Kimber PBJ's to evaluate the analog output. If you want to hear the NAD DACs, you'll want to use the analog outs. Bring your favorite music...stuff that you are very familiar with...and enjoy! I think you will like the NAD.
NAD vs Rotel
written by jaybee , November 09, 2009 Jim, How would you compare this player against Rotel 1072? I am torn between these two.
NAD/Rotel
written by JM7043 , November 10, 2009 The Rotel can be had on the street for under $500 (do your homework), but does not have the upconversion ability (but can play HDCDs) or a USB. The Rotel can only power up with its remote, if I recall. Rotels build quality is very good and cosmetics are excellent compared to the NAD. The Wolfsons have more processing power than the Burr Browns in the Rotel, but sonically, the Rotel is a great 2 channel performer. Both would be good choices, but you will need to audition them and decide what best meets your needs. Write comment
